2009 Sanborn Regional High School Summer Reading List

Note: This year’s Summer Reading List was developed from student requests. All students
are expected to choose one book from the list and read it over the summer for book
discussions in the fall. Informal discussions, facilitated by a teacher, will be held in
September during one or two 20 minute advisory sessions. At those meetings people who
read the same book will meet to share thoughts and ideas. The Summer Reading Program
is an enrichment activity designed to encourage reading. No grades are given but
participation is expected. Please be aware of interest level information as some books are
more appropriate for older students. Lexile scores are listed when available. (Lexile text
scores range from 25 – 2000 based on the difficulty of the text, not the content or
quality of the writing.) Please give your choice to your English teacher.
