THE END TIMES

A CAPSULIZED VERSION
      CHRIST‘S RETURN
• THE SUBJECT OF CHRIST‘S RETURN
IS MENTIONED 318 TIMES IN THE 260
  CHAPTERS OF THE NEW
  TESTAMENT—MORE THAN ANY
  OTHER DOCTRINE.
• TWO OBVIOUS QUESTIONS: 1) WILL
YOU BE READY?, AND 2) DO YOU
  KNOW WHAT HIS RETURN MEANS?
      THE BIG PICTURE
• RAPTURE
• TRIBULATION PERIOD
• SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
• MILLINEUM-1000 YEAR REIGN
• SATAN LOOSED
• CHRIST DESTROYS SATAN‘S ARMY
• ETERNITY BEGINS
                RAPTURE
• There are many signs pointing to the End Times
and they begin with the Rapture.
• Rapture Occurs prior to the TRIBULATION
PERIOD when Jesus comes for us and meets us
  in the air.
• Though not specifically called ―rapture‖ in the
Bible it comes from the root word ‗rapidio‘ (a
quick snatching away) see 1Thess. 4:17
• The BEMA SEAT occurring in heaven after
Christians are raptured & does so to prepare
believers for the MILLENNIUM REIGN (1000
year reign) Why here? More to come!!
    TRIBULATION PERIOD
• Lasting for Seven (7) years (―Completion‖)
• Divided into 2 periods 1) TRIBULATION
  2) GREAT TRIBULATION
• TRIBULATION-1st. 3½ years of a seemingly
  peaceful, wonderful time
• GREAT TRIBULATION-Last 3½ years.
Triggered when ANTI- CHRIST enters the
HOLY TEMPLE in Jerusalem and declares he is
GOD. These are horrible times;mark of the
  beast,war against Jerusalem,etc
• Ends with the BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON
        SECOND COMING
• Where we (THE SAINTS) return with
CHRIST to fight SATAN and his
followers. Blood runs to the horses bridle,
birds eat flesh, etc. SHEEP AND GOATS
JUDGMENT takes place here for the
  purpose of separating those who
  accepted Christ during Tribulation.
(Judgment as to saved or lost.)
 MILLENNIUM –1000 YEAR
        REIGN
• Where we (THE SAINTS) reign with
Christ on EARTH according to our
rewards received at the BEMA SEAT. A
time just like the time of Adam and Eve in
the Garden of Eden before the Fall.
         SATAN LOOSED
• At the end of the 1000 YEAR REIGN
Satan is loosed and he immediately
deceives the nations and convinces them to
join him in destroying the body of
believers. His followers will be the ones
who ―played the game‖ during the
Millennium but never truly trusted Christ
and like Adam and Eve they have free will
  which must be exercised.
CHRIST DESTROYS SATANS
         ARMY
• We came and fought with Him at His
SECOND COMING, but here He wins the
battle with fire. Satan is cast away and will
never deceive anyone again. THE GREAT
  WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT takes
  place and ETERNAL LIFE begins.
   ARE THE END TIMES SO
       IMPORTANT?
• Yes…… for two reasons
• 1) At the end of time it will be determined
     where we will spend eternity.
• 2) At the end of time it will be determined
     how we will spend eternity.
• WHERE AND HOW IS BASED UPON
  THE CONCEPT OF ETERNAL
  REWARDS
      ETERNAL REWARDS
• The greatest question of life: What will happen
  to me after I die.
• 1) Life after death lasts forever.
• 2) Life after death is determined by life
  before death.
• THE TWO CONTROLLING DETERMINERS
  OF OUR ETERNAL LIFE:
• 1) What you choose to believe about salvation.
• 2) How you choose to behave and what you seek
to achieve.(Glory for God or Self)
      ETERNAL REWARDS
• “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but
after this the judgment.” Heb. 9:27
• Judgment takes place at two different times in
two different places for two different types of
people bound for two different destinations with
  varying degrees of reward/punishment.
• JUDGMENT FOR ETERNAL destination
  (Heaven or Hell)
• 1) Judgment reveals whether all personal sin‘s
  are forgiven. Jn.3:14-15
• 2) Judgment of destination is based upon one‘s
belief in Christ. Jn. 3:36 & Mt. 25:32-34,41,46
       ETERNAL REWARDS
• 3) Judgment of destination has nothing to do
  with one‘s works.
• Eph. 2:8-10 ―For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of
God; not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them.”
       ETERNAL REWARDS
       • JUDGMENT FOR ETERNAL
      COMPENSATION (Rewards/Retribution.
Compensate: To counter balance or offset;make up for; to
   recompense.
Compensation: That which is given or serves as an
   equivalent for services.
1) Judgment reveals the quality and quantity of
   works. 1 Cor. 3:13-14
2) Judgment of compensation is based upon one‘s
   personal behavior.
3) Judgment of compensation has nothing to do
   with one‘s belief.
        ETERNAL REWARDS
4) Judgment may reveal a loss of rewards for us. 2
   John 8
5) Judgment may reveal greater retribution in hell
   for earthly works. Rom. 2:3-5
6) Judgment may reveal lesser retribution in hell
   for earthly works. Mt. 10:15
Retribution: A reward, a recompense, a requital or
punishment for wrong or evil done.
• THE PRINCIPLE OF ETERNAL Rewards.
…..for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Lk.10:7
1) Misthos = wages; 1 Tim. 5:18;Mt. 20:8-9
       ETERNAL REWARDS
2) Apodidomi = to give back;Mt.22:21;Lk. 10:35
3) Misho-omai = to hire; Mt. 20:1
4) Misthapoditees = to give back to those you
     hired. Heb. 11:6
5) Misthapodosia = to be given back for what
you were hired to do. Heb. 11:24-26 or to
paraphrase Rev. 22:12-13 “He is coming back
and He can‟t wait to reward us.”
“I the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even
to give to every man according to his ways, and
according to the fruit of his doings.”Jer. 17:10
    TWO JUDGMENTS FOR
     ETERNAL REWARDS
• At the two judgments two questions are
asked: 1) ―What did you do with my son
  Jesus Christ?” And… 2) ―What did you
do with what I gave you?”
• 1) The Great White Throne judgment is
the place of God‘s final judgment of the
unbeliever. (Question #1 is asked here.)
    THE GREAT WHITE
    THRONE JUDGMENT
      • THE JUDGMENT OF THE
                UNBELIEVER
• ―Then I saw a great white throne and Him
who sat on it, from whose face the earth
and the heaven fled away. And there was
found no place for them. And I saw the
dead, small and great, standing before
  God, and books were opened.
     REVELATIONS 20:11-15
• And another book was opened, which is the Book
of Life. And the dead were judged according to
their works by the things that were written in the
books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it,
and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who
were in them. And they were judged, each one
according to his works. Then Death and Hades
were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second
death. And anyone not found written in the Book
of Life was cast into the lake of fire.Rev.20:11-15
    GREAT WHITE THRONE
• The GWT judgment is twofold: destination &
  retribution.
• The GWT judges every unbeliever‘s works for
  fair compensation.
• The judgment is individual and based on works.
  (Not faith)
• The judgment is proportionate and according to
  the books.
• The judgment will bring greater or lesser
retribution for some than others as a result of
  the number (Rom.2:3-5), the seriousness
   GREAT WHITE THRONE
• (Eze.8:13-15 & Lk. 20:46-47) and the
amount of known truth (Mt. 11:20-24 &
  Mt. 10:14-15).
     • When will the GWT take place?
• A) Rev. 6:1-19:10 The Great Tribulation
• B) Rev. 19:11-21 The Second Coming
• C) Rev. 20:1-3 Satan in Bottomless Pit.
• D) Rev. 20:4 Saints/Christ 1000 years
     GREAT WHITE THRONE

the things that were written in the books. The sea
gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and
Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.
And they were judged, each one according to his
  works.
• The unsaved will stand before Jesus Christ the
    GREAT WHITE THRONE
• judge Acts 10:42;17:31;Jn.5:22-23,28-29
• The unsaved are judged by the number of their
  sins. Rom. 2:3-5….. ―treasuring up”
• The unsaved are judged by the seriousness of
  their sins. Eze.8:13-15 ―greater
  adominations…greater abominations…
  These will receive greater condemnations.”
**All sins are equally a sin, but all sins are not
  equally sinful.
• The unsaved are judged by the amount of known
truth. Mt. 11:20-24 ―Then He began to rebuke
    GREAT WHITE THRONE
the cities in which most of His mighty works had
been done; because they did not repent. Woe,
woe,…more tolerable in the day of judgment than
  for you..”

WILL I BE AT THE GREAT WHITE
     THRONE JUDGMENT?
• YES……..AS EITHER AN OBSERVER
  OR AS A DEFENDANT!!!!
• THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
  THE BEMA SEAT

• THE JUDGMENT FOR
    THE BELIEVER
CHRISTIAN JUDGMENT or ―WHAT DID
YOU DO WITH WHAT I GAVE YOU?!‖
        • WHAT WAS/IS THE BEMA?
• The Judgment Seat of Christ is known as the
Bema Seat and is for the rewarding of the
  believer.
• The Official Throne for dispensing legal justice.
Mt. 27:17-19 Therefore, when they had gathered
together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you
want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus
who is called the Christ?” While he was sitting
  on the judgment seat……
              BEMA SEAT
• Acts 12:21 So on a set day Herod, arrayed in
royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an
  oration to them.
• Acts 18:17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes,
the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before
  the judgment seat.
• The Bema is the Official Seat of the Judge for
the Athletic Games. 1 Cor. 9:24-25
• The Bema is the Official Seat of Christ when He
judges all Christians. Rom. 14:10-12 But why do
you judge your brother? For we shall all stand
               BEMA SEAT
Before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is
written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee
shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess
to God,” So each of us shall give an account of
  himself to God.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE BEMA?
• The Bema occurs after the Resurrection of the
Just. Lk.14:12-14 ..at the resurrection of the just
1 Thess. 4:14-17 For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so God will bring with Him
those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you
              BEMA SEAT
• by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive
and remain until the coming of the Lord will by
no means precede those who are asleep. For the
Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with
the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will
rise first. Then we who are alive and remain
shall be caught up together (rapture) with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And
thus will always be with the Lord.
• The Bema results in Rewards being instituted at
the Second Coming. Matt. 16:26 For the Son of
              BEMA SEAT
man will come in the glory of His Father with His
angels, and then He will reward each according
  to his works.
• 2 Tim. 4:8 Finally, there is laid up for me the
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and
not to me only but also to all who have loved His
  appearing.
• The Bema takes place in Heaven and is
  implemented in Christ‘s Earthly Kingdom.
              BEMA SEAT
Lk. 19:12-13,15-17 Therefore He said, “A certain
nobleman went into a far country to receive for
himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten
of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and
said to them, „Do business till I come‟. And so it
was that when he returned, having received the
kingdom, he then commanded those servants to
whom he had given the money, to be called to
him that he might know how much every man had
gained by trading. Then came the first saying,
„Master, your mina has earned ten minas.‟ And
              BEMA SEAT
• He said to him, „well done, good servant;
because you have been faithful in a very little,
  have authority over ten cities.”
• The Bema takes place after a person has died and
is in Heaven. 2 Cor. 5:8-11We are confident, yes,
well pleased rather to be absent from the body
and to be present with the Lord. Therefore, we
make it our aim, whether present or absent to be
well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear
before the Judgment Seat of Christ, that each one
may receive the things done in the body,
               BEMA SEAT
according to what he has done whether good or
  bad….
• The Bema includes all the Saved standing before
Christ the Judge. Jn. 5:22-23 For the Father
judges no one, but has committed all judgment to
the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they
honor the Father. He who does not honor the
Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
And Acts 17:30-31 Truly these times of
ignorance God overlooked, but now commands
all men everywhere to repent, because He has
appointed a day on which He will judge the
               BEMA SEAT
world in righteousness by the Man whom He has
ordained. He has given assurance of this to all
by raising Him from the dead.
• The Bema isn‘t the judgment of the Believer for
  salvation but for his works.
1 Cor. 3:11-15 For no foundation can anyone lay
that that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus.
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay straw,
each one‟s work will become manifest for the
Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by
               BEMA SEAT
fire; and the fire will test each one‟s work of what
sort it is. If anyone‟s work which he has built on
it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone‟s
work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself
will be saved, yet so as through fire.
NOTES:
1) Forgiven at the Cross.
2) Judged at the Bema.
3) Works are examined ..judged for
   quality….made public
4) They are rewardable.
               BEMA SEAT
• 5) They are not gifts but repayment.
• 6) The Lord will judge the believer‘s works,
words, (Matt. 12:36-37….every idle word) as
   well as the believer‘s motives.
(1 Cor. 4:3-5…and reveal the counsels of the
   hearts.)
• How does God feel about the Bema Seat?
Malachi 3:13-18 Your words have been harsh
against Me, says the Lord. Yet you say, when
have we spoken against you? You have said, It is
vain to serve God; What profit is it that we have
kept His ordinance, and that we have walked
              BEMA SEAT
as mourners before the Lord of Hosts? So now we
call the proud blessed, for those who do
wickedness are raised up. Yet those who tempt
God go free. Then those who feared the Lord
spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and
heard them; so a book of remembrance was
written before Him for those who feared the Lord
who meditate (esteem) His name. They shall be
mine, says the Lord of Hosts, on the day that I
make them My jewels (special treasure). And
shall spare them as a man spares his own son
           BEMA SEAT
who serves him. Then you shall again
discern between the righteous and the
wicked, between one who serves God and
one who does not serve Him.
