1) Why did I receive this notice?
     Our records indicate that you completed an electronic pre-application in August
     2008 for the Housing Choice Voucher - Walker Settlement Wait List. The
     Housing Authority of the City of Dallas, Texas (DHA) is notifying you of your
     position on the Walker Settlement Wait List.

2) What is the Walker Settlement Wait List?
     The Walker Settlement Wait List is a feature of the Housing Choice Voucher
     (Section 8) program that provides rental assistance to eligible class members.

3) Who are class members?

       An African American who in the past, currently or in the future (i) lived or lives
       in public housing, or (ii) received or receives Section 8 assistance, or (iii) applied
       for or will apply for public housing or Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8)
       assistance pursuant to a program administered by DHA.


4) I completed an electronic pre-application but did not receive a post card.
       On-line applicants may log on to wwl.dhadal.info to view their status. If their pre-
       application is not on the Web site, they will need to contact Customer Service at
       214-951-8330. One of two situations may have occurred:

       i) The applicant has had a change of address since completing the on-line pre-
           application, (the completion of a “Change of Address” form is required) or;
       ii) The applicant did not “Successfully Submit” a pre-application That means
           DHA does not have a record the applicant “Successfully Submitted” a pre-
           application for the Walker Settlement Wait List. On-line applicants must
           notify DHA in writing for a review of their submission of the Walker
           Settlement Wait List pre-application. Go to DHA’s Web site
           www.dhadal.com download the “Walker Settlement Wait List Review
           Request” form and mail it to DHA, 3939 N. Hampton Rd. Dallas, Texas
           75212.

5) How was my position determined?
     Families who completed the pre-application were randomly assigned a Walker
     Settlement aiding position based on a computerized lottery system.

6) What does this number mean?
     The number on the post card is your position on the Housing Choice Voucher –
     Walker Settlement Wait List.

7) When will my number change?
     Your position will change as Walker Settlement vouchers become available and
     DHA determines applicants on the Walker Settlement Wait List as eligible. On-
     line applicants may call Customer Service periodically (once every three months)
     to determine their waiting list position.

8) What is the next step?
     On-line applicants will remain on the Walker Settlement Wait List until they
     reach the top. Once applicants reach the top of the Walker Settlement Wait List,
     they will be notified by mail of an eligibility appointment which will provide the
     date, time and location of the appointment, as well as, all of the required
     documents.

9) When do I get the voucher?
     DHA cannot estimate when on-line applicants will receive a voucher. However,
     based on availability, applicants will receive a voucher in the order in which they
     are on the Walker Settlement Wait List and after their application is determined
     eligible.

10) Can I add family members to my application?
       Applicants will receive an eligibility appointment letter once they reach the top of
       the list. Applicants may change their family composition at the appointment,
       under specific circumstances.

11) If I have a change of address what do I do?
         Applicants must notify DHA in writing of a change in their mailing address.
         Access DHA’s Web site at www.dhadal.com download the “Change of Address”
         form and mail it to DHA at 3939 N. Hampton Rd. Dallas, Texas 75212.

12) Will I receive any other information regarding this program?
       Yes, there are two types of written letters you will receive from DHA.

               a) Interest Letter: Annually DHA will send a written notification
                 requesting confirmation of your continued interest to remain on the
                 Walker Settlement Wait List. To remain on the list, applicants must
                 respond to by returning the post card to DHA.

               b) Appointment Letter: When you reach the top of the Walker Settlement
                 Wait List, DHA will mail an eligibility appointment letter providing the
                 date, time and location of the appointment as well as the required
                 documents you must provide.
