ACC works at both national and regional levels to reduce
workplace injuries.
   The Workplace Programme Team works at a national
level with industry groups and associations, trade
unions and industry training organisations to develop
strategies to:
• increase injury prevention capability;
• improve injury prevention practice;
• reduce work-related injuries, and associated
   economic and social costs;
Injury Prevention Consultants work at a regional
level with medium and high risk* industries and local
communities to provide:
• advice on health and safety planning and measure-
   ment;
• advice on how to improve health and safety sys-
   tems and practice;
• advice on facilitating injury prevention workshops
   and training sessions;
• support to local communities in injury prevention
   initiatives.

(*Risk categories are identified by the number and cost
of ACC claims or by the industry itself).
   The Injury Prevention Consultants bring a wide range
of experience and expertise to their role. They have a
wealth of experience in health and safety consulting,
accident/incident investigation and in working with
communities to reduce work-related injuries.
