NOTICE TO COUNSEL Professional Liability Cases Medical Malpractice Cases The Circuit Court for Baltimore City is initiating a mediation program for professional liability and med ical malprac tice cases. Ind ividuals seek ing design ation as a m ediator in these programs should file an application with the Clerk of the Court consistent with the provisions of Md. Rule 17-107. Qualification requirements are as follows: Medical Malpractice: An individual is eligible to be appointed as a mediator in the Me dical Ma lpractice P rogram if that individua l meets all the requirements of Md. Rule 17-104 and, in addition, is a member in good standing of the Maryland Bar with at least ten years experience in the active practice of medical malpractice law. Professional Liability Cases: Individuals are eligible to be mediators in the professiona l liability cases if the y meet all th e qualification s in Md. R ule 17-104 and, in addition, have fifteen years of professional experience in the subject matter of the dispute to be litigated. Service as judge in a Maryland court may be substituted for the experience requirem ent.
