9:15 – 10:00 a.m.      Making the Transition to Nazareth College: Panel Discussion
                       Dr. Sara Varhus, Vice President for Academic Affairs
                       Dr. Deborah Dooley, Dean – College of Arts & Sciences
                       Dr. Timothy Glander, Dean – School of Education
                       Dr. Shirley Szekeres, Dean – School of Health & Human Services

10:30 – 12:00 p.m.     Teaching (and Learning) at Nazareth College
                       Dr. Diane Enerson, Director – Center for Teaching Excellence
                       Golisano Academic Center 338
                       Guest Faculty will provide an overview of teaching and learning at
                       Nazareth. The discussion will focus on their responses to the following
                       questions: Who are your students? What surprised me when I came?
                       What are the best-kept secrets about teaching here?

12:00 – 1:00 p.m.      Lunch with Department Chairs, Presenters, Guest Faculty & Staff
                       Dr. Tim Kneeland, Chair, Faculty Executive Committee

1:00 – 2:00 p.m.       Campus Tour: include Counseling, Ofc. for Students w/ Disabilities,
                       Advising, Library, IT, Writing Center and the First Year Center

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.       Preparing for the 1st Day of Class: Reflecting on and refining your
                       syllabus
                       Dr. Diane Enerson, Director – Center for Teaching Excellence
                       Golisano Academic Center 338 – Student Learning

The purpose of this discussion is for faculty to get a chance to get feedback on and refine the
syllabi they will be using. (Please come to the session with three copies of a single syllabus
you would like to reflect on with your colleagues.) Other topics that will be included in our
discussion will be an overview of the issue of academic dishonesty (copy of policy will be
provided) and grading.
