Alter’s Book Review
The Monkey Wrench Gang By. Edward Abbey
Edward Abbey was the founder of the radical environmental organization Earth First. This Book
is about a group of radical environmentalists that go around righting the wrongs society has
done to the Earth. This is a perfect book for when you need a boost. You will feel like
taking on the whole world after you read this book.
Mutant Message Down Under By Marlo Morgan
By far the best book I have ever read in my life. This is an easy book to read one could
finish it in a day or two and it will remain with you forever. A truly inspirational book
that gives you a new outlook on the human race and our heritage. It raises questions as to
our real purpose on this planet. The human race is the mutants and there is a definite
message in this book.
The Guide to Graduate Environmental
Programs By The Student Conservation Association
This book is an invaluable resource when trying to locate an environmental graduate school. I
found it in the Island Press Environmental Sourcebook they are a company that sells
environmental books. They can be reached at http://www.islandpress.org or at 1-800-828-1302.
Ryan Alter is a regular, rather selective Bug Picker from Ohio. It seems that he only picks bugs that he catches on
warm tropical islands --- he wouldn’t be caught dead with dead Ohio bugs !
