Medical Coverage for Overseas Trips As part of the organisation of your overseas trip, medical insurance has been arranged for your group through the schools insurers. Details of the coverage that this insurance policy provides should have already been given to parents and for your reference this information is included in Appendix A of this document. In essence the policy contains 2 elements a normal medical expense clause (Emergency medical treatment) and an emergency SOS assistance facility. The medical expense aspect of this policy is on a reimbursement basis, this means the trip organiser should pay for this expense directly to the medical facility, obtain a medical certificate and receipt and pass this to the Administration Department on return so that they can arrange reimbursement. This arrangement should enable the vast majority of probable injuries to be treated efficiently and effectively. If the injury or incident is serious enough, the trip organiser could consider activating the SOS facility within the policy which will ensure that advice and extra assistance can be provided within the country. Full details of this policy can be found in Appendix B to this document.
