January 9 (Friday) This museum tells the story of the world’s oldest continuously operating airport. There are props to spin, wind tunnels, a small plane to test your flight skills, simulators to experience, and fascinating displays on the airfield’s history. View over ten aircraft, including a 1911 Wright Model B and many more exhibits. Take advantage of this opportunity to experience this nearby affiliate of the Smithsonian. Afterwards enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant. Cost covers tour, lunch and transportation. “Mid-Life Crisis” @ Toby’s in Columbia, MD January 14 (Wednesday) Welcome to MID-LIFE! This wacky musical that takes a comic look at the “age old” conditions and situations faced in mid-life. From reading glasses and mammograms to weekend warriors and proctology exams - all are lampooned with a Saturday Night Live non-sensibility. Everyone will relate to this hilarious, and at times, touching musical about the curiosities and inevitabilities of middle-age. If you bought some Viagra, but can’t remember where you put it – then you’re ready for MID-LIFE.

Bowie Railroad Station, Huntington Museum, and Belair Stable Museum January 23 (Friday) Located in historic Old Bowie, the Bowie Railroad Station was relocated from its original site across the Railroad tracks and restored in the 1990’s. The Belair Stable is right on Belair Drive and until its closing in 1957 it was the oldest continually operated horse farm in the United States. Learn some interesting historical facts about Bowie and afterwards we will have lunch on our own at the Bowie Towne Centre Food Court.

wheelchairs or seating at all destinations. Those who have difficulty with mobility, orientation/memory, incontinence or other health issues should check with Senior Center staff before registering. PLEASE NOTE—Most galleries, museums, and public places now require search of bags and handbags. Avoid bringing large bags to eliminate lengthy search procedures. Carry a picture ID with you to all destinations. NEW: TRIAL GUEST POLICY beginning JULY 15, 2008 At the signup lottery, members will be able to sign up for themselves and either a spouse, or one friend during the initial lottery. The guest must be a Bowie resident and their Bowie Senior Center card must be presented at the time of registration. Each person must have a completed trip reservation form. After the lottery signup is completed, registration will not resume again until 5:00 pm. TRIP RULES To make sure all trips are conducted in an orderly fashion, the following rules will be in effect for all trips arranged by the Bowie Senior Center. 1.Passengers will sit in the same bus seats both to and from the scheduled destination. 2.The bus will leave the Center at the designated time and will leave the trip destination at the time specified by the escort. It is the responsibility of each passenger to return to the bus at the specified time. The goal is to adhere to the times of pickup and return to the Center so that all passengers can plan their day according to the printed trip list. 3.If a passenger fails to return to the bus for the specified time of departure, he or she will be responsible for arranging alternate transportation back to Bowie at his/her own cost. CANCELLATIONS If a participant cancels his/her trip reservation, staff will attempt to fill the vacancy from the wait list, if there is one. The cancellation can be reimbursed only if a paid replacement is in place. Credit vouchers will be issued by staff for reservation cancellations of $6.00 or less. These credit vouchers will be good for 6 months and usable for Center trips or activities. Reimbursement of canceled reservations of more than $6.00 will be paid by check from the City of Bowie. Transfer of your reservation to a friend is not permitted unless cleared by staff.
