DINGHY SAILING

Dinghies can be kept in the locked Dinghy Park at the Club all year round if necessary. Fees are paid for summer and
winter storage. The dinghy park gets very full in the summer and early notification of places needed is appreciated.
Dinghy Park Convenor Simon Little 9 Bay Road Wormit Fife DD6 8LU 01382 543041 simon@kinbank.org
The club has a number of dinghies e.g. lasers, toppers, wayfarer for the use of members. Please arrange with the Officer
of the Day (OOD).

Club Boats

There will be a charge for all double handed dinghies and for any other club boats used by adults. This is to help with
the cost of the sailing boats maintenance. Please pay Officer of the Day.

Keel Boats

Moorings belonging to the owner are laid by arrangement. All moorings must be discussed with the Mooring
Convenor: Luke Rendall, 24 Shoolbraids, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8ES 01334 472502
ler4@st-andrews.ac.uk

Keel boats are launched and lifted out on pre-arranged days and can be stored in the dinghy park over the winter.

Racing and Events

All dinghy and keelboat racing and events are published in the members’ sailing programme, which is sent out at the
beginning of each year. Each race and event has rescue cover.

There are a number of Club Days or Open Days throughout the season, for members (full or temporary membership) to
use the club and the boats. A “test drive” can be taken with an experienced sailor to start to learn the basics and find out
if you like dinghy sailing on the Tay. Skills and knowledge can be refreshed by using other people’s boats, the club boats
or by sailing with another sailor in their dinghy.

All events past and present are reported in the “Mainsheet”, the Club Newsletter, which is sent to all paid up members
and to which contributions are always welcomed by Mike Rennie mi7rennie@hotmail.com

All members are allocated duties including Officer of the Day (OOD), Assistant Officer of the Day (AOOD), Rescue and
Kitchen. Most members will have up to 4 duties per season, but usually only 2. Duties are allocated according to
preference, sailing knowledge and, if known, suitable times. Members must check their duties when the Sailing
Programme is sent out and, if unable to honour, exchange with another member. Membership Lists are available from
the Membership Secretary on request and a copy is on display in the club. As a new member you may be asked to help
out. Support will be given and you will not be given a duty you feel unable to cope with.

Club Keys

There will be a £5.00 refundable charge for a club key and a £20.00 refundable charge for the council slip (Pier)
key.

Do not worry if you do not know about the club, sailing, sailing rules or other activities. All members started
from the same position of panic and uncertainty at some time; please feel free to ask.
