Charles Acosta Goal: $25,000.00 Decorations: Spy glasses, private eye, mystery, searching for treasure. Theme for Shining Stars on Wednesday morning: CSI: Cleanse me, Search me, Ignite me. Queens Day Theme: “Search and Rescue” Psalm 139:23 & 24 Coronation Theme: “Searching for Treasure” God’s book is a treasure map and that the girls are following that map to find the greatest treasures in life. Juanita May will need the information from the counselors by May 31 for the names to be in the program. Miss GMA Presentation theme: “Hide and Seek” Genesis 3:8-10 Lisa Hudson, National WMA President will do the installation of officers on Friday. Sunbeam Theme: “Shoes for Christ” Workshops will be Wednesday and Thursday. We will be concentrating on the goal set by the advisory council last year. The emphasis will be on cabins and spiritual counselors in each cabin. We are praying for empowered counselors to come to retreat ready to have devotionals in the cabins and minister to the girls in the cabins. We will also work on the goal of filling the camp with girls and counselors. The Camp shirts next year will be chocolate brown with pink writing with the words “The Search is On” You should be receiving an order form in the mail. Your officers have set a goal of $2,500.00 for the new camper fund. This is funds to help newly organized GMA groups to come to camp for the first time. Recreation: Scavenger hunts, “The Word Search, Sword Drill, Clue, etc 100 Hugs – bring your t-shirts Afterglow: Kelsey Fagala, Song leader is asking for all girls to be thinking about participating. New next year for superintendents: The list of requirements for the cabin checks. They will make decisions on the cabin from the list; lights out, beds made, commodes flushed, no open food or drink, floors swept, etc. The officer projects for 2009 will be: Grab Bags, Candy Grams, Silent Auction, officer “Safe” competition, Buttons, “Encouragram” “Binocular” filled with coins (coke bottle taped together), project sheets and Quarter Slots. Courtney Luck, 1st Vice President will be doing a mail out with: A letter of explanation about the Project Sheets, order forms 09 camp T-Shirt and information on the girls in the “Safe Haven for Girls.” We will be mailing out the Quarter Slots with a brochure about the girls about October 1. Your State Promoters should have them at your state WMA meeting in the fall.
