Further Increased Qantas fares from 4th June Qantas have announced another increase in their fares due to the record high fuel prices. CEO Geoff Dixon said international fares would increase by about 4%, with a 3% increase in domestic fares -this is on top of announces of 3% international and 3.5% domestic announced earlier in the month. He also said Qantas was targeting further efficiency improvements "which now include a review of the network and schedules of Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar." The new increases will become effective for tickets issued in Australia on or after 04 June. The Travel Management Co's. will be running reports on all passengers booked on Qantas flights that have not been ticketed and will then contact each University Passenger that is affected to offer them the opportunity to arrange payment for their tickets prior to this date to avoid the increase in price. Due to the Volume of tickets that this could potentially affect we will require any payments for these tickets to be processed with your preferred Travel Management Co. by close of business on the 02 June 2008. Where payments for tickets are received after this time our Tic’s have promised to do what they can to process the tickets prior to the increase in price but can not offer a guarantee this. Please be aware of the time frames necessary when processing approvals for travel.
