Overview of the i experience internship program
The 2008 paid summer internship program, the i experience, is designed to identify, develop and hire top
entry level talent. Throughout the 10-week full-time project based program, participants work closely with
their managers to understand and impact their specific functions and divisions. Additionally, interns are
exposed to various areas of the company through weekly interaction with key executives and networking
events.

Minimum Qualifications for the internship are, minimum 3.0 GPA and you must be a rising junior, rising
senior or recent graduate. Past retail or fashion industry experience is preferred but not required

Internship in Design
The designers at LCI utilize their talent in the form of hand sketches as well as computer technology to
create new and exciting designs for our powerful brands.

In addition to sketching, designers initialize tech packs, (including trims, specs, fabric), communicate with
internal and external partners, attend all necessary meetings related to their division, and help create
concept, bodies and theme boards.

Qualifications
The ability to sketch using illustrator
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
High energy, initiative and sense of urgency
Ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment.
Strong flat sketches
Familiarity with adobe illustrator

growth and performance improvement opportunities. They provide management with summary portfolio
analyses of businesses on a weekly, seasonal or as needed basis.

Responsibilities include collecting and synthesizing competitor information to create Competitor Profiles
which contain share, financial and strategic analysis, as well as compiling and analyzing internal retail selling
data to understand current business situation and identify growth opportunities.

Superior organizational skills to track time spent on projects
Proficiency in PC skills (preferably with the Microsoft Office suite of products)
Must be highly detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

Internship in Human Resources
The Human Resources department serves as the liaison for the business and it’s employees. The various
divisions within Human Resources are responsible for consulting, recruiting, training, and counseling the
employees at LCI.

The generalist team provides support for various brands by working closely with recruiting, compensation
and associate relations. The talent acquisition team sources top talent for the company. The organizational
development and learning team develop and facilitate training programs and classes for associates at all
levels of the organization. The compensation and benefits team manages compensation and benefits
packages. The associate relations team immerses itself in policy research, evaluation and development,
affirmative action planning and compliance with EEO.

The Manufacturing/Sourcing division works closely with design, merchandising, sales, allocations, customer
service and distribution to insure product flow is communicated.

The department liaises with overseas offices to optimize brand development, compile pricing information in
order to achieve a profitable, high quality, and product that has been designed to LCI specifications.
Additionally, they compile, present, and analyze allocation data in support of the overall sourcing strategy for
the department.

The department works on day-to-day editorial activities including publicity reports, writing text for press
releases and letters to internal and external vendors as well as putting together press kits.

Additionally, they are responsible for the look books of the various seasonal collections that get distributed to
all of the major fashion editors, as well as developing relationships with agents and publicists

item selling, branch and regional sales and stock rations, shipping and purchase order and disseminates
them to the business. They also work on various projects ranging from weekly business recaps and

processes, and perform primary, secondary, and tertiary level support for Liz Claiborne corporate and store
store systems.

systems for retail planning spanning across multiple platforms. This internship will have exposure to
analysis, design, coding, testing, and production support.

Responsibilities include analyzing user requirements and issues in order to improve business processes,
enhance existing computer systems and software development. This will include the following:

- Entering program codes/inputting test data
- Correcting program errors using methods such as modifying program or sequence of program steps
- Reviewing and rewriting programs
- Compiling documentation of program development

Additionally, this internship will study existing business processes and problems to evaluate effectiveness
and to improve systems or workflow as required.
