GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCTION DRIVEWAY ORDINANCE – 2001 Effective October 8, 2001 all entrances to a property from any dedicated road or street or any road or street that will be dedicated in the future shall require a driveway permit. General Location Restriction - Adequate sight distance must be provided (See F-1 page 7) - Free movement of normal roadway traffic is not impaired - Driveway will not create a hazard; and - Driveway will not create undue traffic congestion on the roadway Number of Driveways - One driveway per residential property - One driveway per non-residential property - Additional access may be provided under special conditions for commercial and industrial lots Grade of Driveway - All driveways shall be constructed so as not to impair drainage within the right-of-way, alter the stability of the improved area or change the drainage of adjacent areas.
