About the program
FBT is not only concerned with completing annual returns, it is an ongoing issue in the lifecycle of a business. It requires constant
attention and planning to ensure advisers stay at the forefront of new developments and opportunities for their clients.
Through a combination of technical and workshop sessions, the 2010 FBT Roadshow will address current issues and recent
changes and ensure you are equipped with everything you need to deal with your clients’ FBT transactions and planning issues.
By the end of the session attendees will have a thorough understanding of the current FBT environment and the issues and
opportunities relevant to their clients.

Presenter profiles
Paul Banister FTIA is a Tax Director who leads Grant Thornton’s Taxation Services team in Brisbane. Paul has over 20 years’
experience advising a wide range of corporate and family groups on taxation and business issues. Paul’s expertise includes
extensive experience in packaging of remuneration and benefits and dealing with the associated compliance with and management
of employment tax issues.

Paul Dawson FTIA is a Senior Manager at Grant Thornton in Perth. Paul has over 15 years’ experience in public practice and
specialises in corporate taxation, business structures and indirect taxes. Paul has significant experience in advising businesses on
their FBT compliance obligations and the application of the FBT law to their particular circumstances.

David Hawkes ATIA is a Senior Manager in the Taxation Services Group of Grant Thornton and has 12 years’ experience in
advising clients on a wide range of taxation issues. David leads the Fringe Benefits Tax team in Adelaide and has considerable
experience in advising both public and private sector clients on FBT compliance and effective remuneration strategies. David has
also had extensive involvement in development and delivery of FBT seminars.

Elizabeth Lucas ATIA is an Associate Director at Grant Thornton, Melbourne. Elizabeth is a member of the Fringe Benefits Tax
NTLG and a regular commentator on tax effective remuneration strategies and FBT in the press. Elizabeth has specific expertise
in the not for profit sector.

John Ross FTIA is a Tax Director at Grant Thornton, Sydney. John has led the Fringe Benefit Tax Return Program at Grant Thornton
Sydney since 2003 and their annual seminar on FBT. John has extensive experience in salary packaging and benefits and has
worked out of London for two years on global expatriate tax assignments for clients.

Each roadshow presenter will be supported by an additional representative from the Grant Thornton team.
