BY ANTONIA VAN DER MEER TAYLOR SWIFT, 19-YEAR-OLD COUNTRY MUSIC POP STAR SENSATION, is a girl on the go. She arrives at our Nashville cover shoot on a Tuesday morning, looking fresh and rested despite the fact that she played a concert with Def Leppard for CMT Crossroads the night before. It’s a hard-rock life…but she’s as peppy and full of excitement about the cover she is shooting for Your Prom as she is about her newly released second album, Fearless, which shot to #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 less than two weeks after its debut. Never mind that she has already graced the cov- ers of Us Weekly, Blender and Seventeen, or that she has scored big musi- cally with songs like “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “Our Song.” Taylor appears, above all, thankful for all the good things that have been coming her way of late, including the fact that eight of her new tracks, including the hit “Love Story,” are topping iTunes. Wearing skinny jeans and a long black-and-blue-striped shirt with a cowl neck, she clearly can’t wait to trade in her casual duds for some gor- geously dressy dresses. “I’m addicted to proms!” she confesses. She has been to the big dance three times: once as a freshman (she was one of those lucky girls dating a senior) and once as a sophomore with a guy friend. She also attended a prom her senior year, thanks to an MTV “Once Upon a Prom” contest that paired her with a boy from Alabama.
