While most people think “ship” when they think of a wreck. However wreck diving includes other
craft, such as sail boats, houseboats, railroad cars, automobiles, aircraft, military craft and even
building materials. Because of this, few dive environments lack wrecks, so virtually every diver
ends up diving on wrecks from time to time.

Wreck Diving is all about experiencing different sites. Some people do wreck
diving for the curiosity, others looking the history, some are looking at the
aquatic life on around the wreck and others are into photography. Whatever
draws your attention to wreck-diving the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course
will enable you to learn more about wreck diving techniques so you can get
more out of your next wreck dive. The course is broken up into theory and
practical, involves 4 dives with the last one using a reel and penetrating the

• Techniques for diving exploring shipwrecks, and how to avoid common

•   How to research and learn the background of your favorite wrecks

•   Wreck scuba diving equipment considerations

•   Considerations and techniques for entering intact wrecks

•   Experience in planning, organizing and making at least four wreck dives
    under the supervision of your PADI Instructor

• You must be 15 years or older

•   Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
