Jobs CUT. This will be a reality if we don’t speak out on behalf of CHKD. Protect the legacy of The King’s Daughters. Call YOUR Legislator TODAY. “Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters STILL needs your help. The State of Virginia is facing its worst budget crisis ever, and the vital services CHKD provides to our children are at risk because of it. The state budget currently, before our General Assembly, significantly cuts CHKD’s Medicaid payments. These cuts would have a devastating effect on Virginia’s only free-standing hospital dedicated exclusively to children. The King’s Daughters built CHKD almost 50 years ago on the premise that every child deserves equal access to high quality pediatric care, regardless of their ability to pay. Today it has the highest percentage of Medicaid inpatient days of any hospital in the state. 53 percent of CHKD’s inpatient days are covered by Medicaid. The next closest provider is at 28 percent. Please contact your legislators and ask them to protect CHKD and the children it serves. It doesn’t cost a penny and it only takes a minute. Just go to www.chkd.org, and click on “Help Protect CHKD.” And speak up for those too young to speak for themselves.” More info?
