South Devon Holiday Agency Report 15% Increase in 2010 Bookings

With the recent disruption to holiday plans caused by Volcanic ash and
further cancelled flights in Ireland resulting in more uncertainty for
travelers after the Bank Holiday, millions of families have apparently
changed their holiday thoughts for 2010 in favour of a break closer to
home.

Devon, England, May 06, 2010 -- Family owned and managed self-catering
holiday agency, Coast & Country Cottages is reporting bookings currently
15% up on the same time last year. Based in South Devon and with offices
in the picturesque holiday towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth, the
successful South Devon company markets over 425 holiday properties
exclusively in the South Hams, the southernmost tip of South Devon.

Karen Jones, Partner, comments ‘2010 is proving to be another fantastic
year for the agency, after 9 successive record seasons for Coast &
Country Cottages. Whilst many of our customers return to us year after
year and love this beautiful area as much as we all do, we are pleased to
be welcoming many new visitors to the South Hams in 2010. With some
stunning new properties newly available for holiday rental in 2010, we
still have some availability for Summer 2010, but peak weeks get booked
up quickly so hurry and book now!’

With finances tight and travel options potentially restricted, many
families are opting to holiday in the UK this Summer with extended
family, sharing the cost of a larger property with family members, making
the trip much more affordable for all. Coast & Country Cottages offer a
number of larger properties, perfect for extended family groups or two
families holidaying together. Elegant country house, Broadsands in
Thurlestone sleeps up to 12 and is available in August for £3750 per week
or under £45 per person per night based on 12 sharing. Overlooking a
fabulous coastal golf course and offering stunning panoramic sea views,
plus the beautiful sandy beach just a 2 minute walk away, Broadsands is
the perfect location for a Summer holiday, with spacious accommodation
for those looking for a luxury retreat.

For those looking for comfortable family accommodation, prices start at
£1225 for week in August at a barn conversion sleeping 8 or just over
£150 per person per night. Check online at www.coastandcountry.co.uk for
the latest availability and any special offers.

With properties sleeping 2 -12, Hillfield Cottages & Country House in
Dartmouth is a great option for those looking to travel with extended
family, offering larger properties for parties wishing to share one house
but with the flexibility of taking two or more properties close together
if greater privacy from the in-laws is required! Beautiful grounds, an
outdoor pool, children’s play area, all weather tennis court plus just a
10 minute drive from an award-winning family beach, make this a wonderful
destination for a family Summer holiday. In August, an apartment sleeping
2, perhaps suitable for grandparents, starts at £583 per week, with
larger properties including Court Lodge which sleeps up to 12 and boasts
a private hot tub, available at £2990 per week, or under £36 per person
per night based on 12 sharing.
Extended family group holidays in South Devon offer many advantages
beyond sharing the cost of the holiday and the care of the children,
providing a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with family and
friends in a beautiful location and without the current uncertainty and
cost of foreign travel.
