Senior News / Updates:                                                                                                   College Visits:

The Senior All Night party will be May 29, 9 p.m., at the high school. Registration for the
evening continues until April 30 with a cost of $30 per student. No new registrations will be
taken at the door. The party is expected to last until approximately 6 am. Questions??? See
Mrs. Simkins or Mr. Kasza.

Senior bills are now posted in the office window. Please do not wait until the day of
graduation to play your bill.

College / Scholarship Info…
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to periodically check the scholarship box in the office. It is located on top of the filing cabinet
below the ACT packets. Please make copies of any info that you may need.

If you are a cancer survivor, the American Cancer Society offers a fantastic scholarship opportunity for you. See the scholarship box in the
office for details. The deadline to apply is April 16.
The Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies is sponsoring its fifth annual scholarship competition. You must be planning to attend a
Michigan College or University, have a 3.0 GPA and plan to be an accounting or finance major. See the scholarship box for details.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society is sponsoring two scholarships of $600. The deadline to apply is April 14 and is open to any senior.
Applications are in the scholarship box.
The Grand Traverse Area Hotel/Motel Association awards two $500 scholarships to students who are pursing studies in hospitality fields.

If you are interested in summer programs specializing in law enforcement techniques, our political process at Boys State or baseball
techniques, go to to learn more about their programs.
The Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City is hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. I've
attached the flyer in hopes that you can post in your office. As always, maritime cadets and the admissions department will be available to
provide information and answer questions regarding the admissions process and the maritime industry. The Training Ship State of Michigan
is not available for tours--however the entire Academy, along with Deck and Engineering Simulation systems will be available for viewing.

There will also be two seminars during the Open House. The first is from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on "Small Boat Maintenance" and the
second is from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on "Boat Handling". See flyers on scholarship board.
Kiwanis of Kalkaska is offering a scholarship to students who have demonstrated good citizenship and performed community service while in high school.
Check the scholarship basket for details. Deadline: April 19.
Bay Area Desk & Derrick Club scholarship offered to anyone entering any field related to petroleum, energy or any allied industry. See scholarship basket
for details. Deadline: April 20.
NMC scholarship available to sons or daughters of US Veterans of the Armed Services. See scholarship basket for details. Deadline: April 15.
Village Chiropractive Wellness Center is sponsoring its $250 award again this year. Please stop by and pick up an application. The due date for the essay
is April 30. Please turn in your form and essay to Mrs. Holzbauer.
