The outfall discharges 3.6 km from the shoreline at 82 m maximum water depth. The Malabar sewage treatment system includes flows from Liverpool STP, Glenfield STP and Fairfield storm STP. Beneficial reuse and recycling: On site reuse. Asset status: Efficiency improvements were made to the operation of cogeneration generators at Malabar STP in 2007–08. The installation of a recycled water plant is in progress at the STP to reduce drinking water use at this site. STP performance: Load and concentration levels of suspended solids and oil and grease were within the current licence limits. There was no evidence of ecotoxic effects from the STP discharges.
