Call for Papers PNWIS 2008 Annual Conference
September 24 through 26, 2008 Anchorage, Alaska
The PNWIS 2008 Conference will include three lines of technical session presentations that will run concurrently. The general topic lines are: Air Quality; Waste Management; and Other topics of interest such as NEPA, Climate Change, Polar Bear ESA Listing All proposals related to the environment are welcome because a paper or panel discussion on any environmental topic will be considered for presentation. Technical Sessions are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon (3:15 to 4:45 pm), all day Thursday and Friday morning. A plenary session is planned for Wednesday early Wednesday afternoon (1:30 to 3:00 pm). Abstracts are not required at this time. Simply submit the information on the Technical Session Registration Form. Include your name, phone number and email address, and the title of the session or presentation topic, and a brief description (less than 50 words) or a list of panel discussion points and presenters. Technical Session Presentation Registrations are due by August 15, 2008. Please Note: The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) and the Pacific Northwest International Section (PNWIS) are committed to providing a neutral forum for the advancement of ideas, opinions and science related to Air Quality and Waste Management. However, the PNWIS 2008 Technical Committee reserves the right to reject presentations that advance a particular political or religious agenda, serves merely as an advertisement for a particular product or service, are defamatory or libelous, or if otherwise inappropriate for this conference. Presenters will be notified of a rejection and the grounds upon which the rejection is based. The Presenter may appeal the determination to the Planning Committee Chair for a final ruling. Presentations will not be rejected simply for being controversial or offering a minority opinion on a particular topic. The purpose of AWMA technical sessions, in particular, is to provide a neutral forum for the discussion of such topics.
