Phyllis Stevens at the North Idaho Fair and Rodeo
Phyllis Stevens, the premier voice of Inland Northwest gardening, will be at the North Idaho Fair and
Rodeo Friday, Aug. 28, 11:301:30 p.m., on the KXLY Stage, Kootenai County Fairgrounds, Coeur
The Spokane Master Gardener answers listeners' questions and gives advice about different growing
techniques on KXLY 920 radio and hosts three weekly garden segments on KXLYTV Channel 4.
Stevens, a Spokane native, is the charter president of the Friends of Manito Botanical Garden. She's a
professional horticulture consultant and landscape designer. She's owned her own business for more than
15 years, and was Spokane's Urban Horticulture Advisor for Washington State's Cooperative Extension
Service and Master Gardener Coordinator.
Stevens teaches adult education gardening classes and has been a guest speaker for the Northwest
Flower Show in Seattle, the nation's thirdlargest flower show. When not talking about gardening, Phyllis
is busy putting her knowledge into practice. Her home has been featured on the Spokane Bloom Garden
The Kootenai County Fairgrounds is located at 4060 Government Way. Take Exit 12 off Interstate 90
and proceed north for approximately one mile. Turn right on Kathleen Avenue, then left on Government
