									    “BODYWISE FUN FITNESS” CLASSES FOR KIDS - FAMILY – TEENS 2010

  THREE NEW FUN CLASSES HAVE BEEN ADDED – FAMILY YOGA & HOOPING!!

New participants will receive a “Fun to be Fit” Tee. Give your kids & family the gift of Fitness, Wellness & Health!
1. “PLAYGROUND BOOT CAMP” GRADES 1-4 Same program as our FUN TO BE FIT FOR BOYS & GIRLS with the
addition of Playground Fun & Games. Fun packed 20 minutes of Playground fun followed by indoor REBOUNDING, JUMP
ROPE SPORTS, CHINESE JUMP ROPE, HOOPING AEROBICS, AGILITY/STAMINA COURSE or YOGA. Rebounding
(aerobics on a mini trampoline) is a fun and exhilarating, healthy exercise that detoxifies the body as it strengthens muscles
and challenges coordination. Wednesdays - Time: 3:50-4:40 Nutrition and healthy lifestyle education incl. Dates:

2. KID’S “YOGA HOOP-DANCE” (NEW) Grades 2-6 HULA HOOP AEROBICS, DANCE & CONDITIONING CLASS –
ENDS WITH A YOGA INFUSED WITH PILATES!!! Kids will have a whirl of a time in this session, HOOPING it up to their
favorite pop tunes using beautiful, specially designed hoops. Bodywise Hoops are Handmade, slightly weighted, larger hoops
which makes learning hooping easier for beginner and challenging for the pro. We start with a dynamic warm up using the
hoops, followed by hooping, hula hoop games, obstacle courses and learning “hooping tricks”. We end with body strengthening
YOGA for kids that is infused with Pilates for kids to work core/abdominal muscles, strengthen upper & lower body while
improving flexibility. Wear comfortable workout type clothing, sneakers and bring a water bottle. Nutrition & healthy
Lifestyle education is included. MONDAY 4:45-5:45 Mar 22 – May 17 FEE: $99pp


3. FAMILY “YOGA HOOP-DANCE”               with kids ages 7 & up. The First Lady Michelle Obama, Shasa & Maya are doing
it!! The’re Hooping!! This Hoop to be Fit class teaches the wonderful, exhillarating exercise of HULA HOOPING and the
healthful exercise of YOGA to provide you with a complete, non-impact, heart pounding, cardio and calorie blasting fitness
class that will leave you feeling energized, YOUNG and ALIVE! Specially designed hoops are larger and lightly weighted to
make it possible for everyone to be able to master this wonderful core strengthening excerise of Hooping. WEDNESDAY
EVES @ DAVENPORT 6:15 – 7:15PM FEE: $75pp Mar 31-May 26 (no cl 4/21,5/19)



4. ADULT/TEEN “YOGA-HOOP DANCE” - WED EVE 7:15-8PM Hula Hoop aerobics/fitness/hoop dance class. Class
begins with a dynamic warm up followed by a hoop/cardio segment. We move on to a "Yoga Hoop" more gentle Hooping/Dance
or Flow oriented Hooping class focusing on energies and Charkas and Core awakening and ends with a wonderful Yoga movement
flow and relaxation. You can also buy a hoop from her for $20. Come explore your energies inside and around your hoop!
FEE: only $75pp DAV GYM Mar 22-May 26 (no cl 4/14, 4/21,5/19)


5. “FAMILY YOGA & CIRCUS YOGA” Parents and Kids 7 – 11 This year we will add a super fun segment to our regular
Family Yoga class. It’s called Yoga Circus. A fun filled hour of Yoga, followed by a combination of different circus skills like balance
beam walking, peacock feather balancing, juggling scarves and juggling balls, hooping and other marvelous things. Family Yoga is gaining
popularity as parents discover that it’s a fun and healthy way to spend quality time with their kids – especially after a hectic day. Class ends
with a relaxing Shavasana. Bring a water bottle and a large beach towel. Betty will also have some Yoga mats on hand if don’t have one.

                     Bodywise by Betty is offering our school the opportunity to increase
                               the health of our budget as well as our bodies!

When you participate in a Bodywise program, a portion of your fee will go directly to the Davenport Ridge
PTO. Remember: All programs are open to students, family, and friends. Over the past two years, Bodywise &
Davenport families have raised almost $4,500 for our school. Betty has added three NEW FAMILY
PROGRAMS this spring. Yoga & Hooping. Join Us for a fun time!!

All after-school classes ARE combined with nutritional education and are a great way for KIDS and FAMILIES to GET

FIT AND HEALTHY TOGETHER and an AWESOME way to raise funds for Davenport Ridge School!

Instructor: Betty Kelly-Camlin specializes in fitness and nutrition for children, pre-teens and teens and women. She is a
former medical professional who is a certified personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America™.
She is a certified Rebounding Instructor and is certified as a children’s yoga instructor. Betty is a wonderfully enthusiastic
teacher who truly enjoys teaching children her mission of living a fit, healthy lifestyle.
