Risk Reduction Series
This six part series was developed by local experts to reduce the REALTORS’ ® exposure to risk. The programs deal with the
daily transactions REALTOR'S® perform. It will increase industry knowledge, allowing for a better executed transaction for
your clients and limiting your exposure to risk.

     This course covers enforcing listing agreements, compensation to cooperating agents, procuring cause

     Forging Successful Affinity Relationships: Complying with RESPA
     This course discusses the limitations of RESPA and the various frameworks for establishing affinity
     relationships that avoid violations of the federal law. The course also discusses various exceptions to Michigan
     licensing requirements that permit real estate agents to act as affinity partners with mortgage lenders. The
     result is a win-win arrangement for the REALTOR®, the affinity partner and the consumer.

     Mediation: A Win-Win Dispute Resolution Process
     Mediation is a process in which a neutral person – a mediator – helps parties reach a settlement to their dispute

the event. All refund requests must be received in writing. Requests for refunds received less than
two weeks prior to the first day of the event will be honored excluding a processing fee equal to
$20. No refunds will be made for requests received within 72 hours prior to the event.
