INTRODUCTION TO THE CROSSROADS CONFERENCE The Crossroads Conference is a new concept, a growing movement and a fresh approach to the current social, environmental and economic concerns in the City of Vancouver. It is an exclusive opportunity for students to cross paths for the first time with the social, environmental and economic leaders of Vancouver. The Crossroads Conference will be held at the Irving K Barber Learning Centre and the Hebb Theatre at the University of British Columbia on Saturday, February 28th, 2009. It is a one-day event that will last from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Delegates can expect an enriching experience at the Conference. Following, there will be a lunch break when delegates can network with others and the top leaders in Vancouver. After lunch, delegates will take part in facilitated discussions, led by members of our Honourary Board of Trustees on topics within their fields of expertise or occupation. Delegates will be given the chance to present their ideas and proposals during the Crossroads Conference. Socials issues like drug addiction and homelessness, environmental issues like urban sustainability and urban transportation, and economic issues like the Vancouver Olympics 2010 and its legacy are just some of the issues that will be addressed.
