Professional Experience
November 2007 – Present, Garland Independent School District – Garland, TX District Assistant Webmaster I maintain the Garland Independent School District website which is over 300 pages of content. I use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Fireworks CS3, Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to maintain directory organization, update and create written content. I have created new web pages, icons, graphic images, flyers, and downloadable files for the district website. I have also edited existing web pages, photographs, graphic images, flyers, downloadable files, and flash media for the district site. While maintaining the district website I work closely with 1 or 2 people from each department in the district to constantly improve and maintain the content in their department sections of the website. I am responsible for training and monitoring 2 school webmasters, (appointed teachers or administrators) from each of the 73 schools within the Garland Independent School district. I make sure they are updating their campus websites on a regular basis, and I work to keep all the school webmasters motivated to work on their websites. I also provide them help with any issues regarding broken web pages, ideas for content, and monthly technical training sessions. I’m responsible for creating and updating documentation that is distributed to the school webmasters via a Webmaster Manual. I have created over 90 pages of documentation since November 2007 to assist the school webmasters in using the new content manager system provided to them for maintaining their campus websites. To communicate with the over 150 school webmasters I maintain a website called Webmaster Central. Webmaster central is used to keep in constant contact with the school webmasters and to provide any information needed to maintain their sites. This site includes announcements, design tips, html tips, photo editing tips, media creation tips, and downloadable copies of the Webmaster Manual sections. I worked with the other members of the school district Web Team to re-design all 73 school websites and implement a new content management system used by the school webmasters to update their new school websites. The 73 new school websites were launched during August 2008. When needed I work with the other members of the GISD district web team to redesign or design new websites for school district use. These websites are for things like GISD hosted tournaments, fund raising programs, and event centers.
2003 - June 2007, Excelon, LLC - Las Colinas, TX Property Manager I co-managed the Crestwood Center a 72,275 sq ft. office building located at 1200 Walnut Hill Lane in Las Colinas, TX. My duties included overseeing all the day-to-day
financial and operational functions for the property. I conducted daily inspections of the premises, managed the venders, collected the rent, took tenant calls, and conducted tours of office spaces for lease with potential tenants. I also maintained frequent communication with the tenants and the ownership group in person and over the phone. To establish a rapport with the tenants I organized tenant appreciation and retention events including lunch and breakfast buffets quarterly. I also provided marketing and advertising to increase awareness about the property by creating a website, floor plans, brochures, and fliers. The creation of a web site allowed potential tenants/users to find out information regarding office space for lease, access to building information & features, see photos of all parts of the of the building, photos of offices for lease, and print floor plans directly from the site.
1999 - 2003, Blair Television - Dallas, TX Supervisor of Assistant Sales Rep. for Television Spot Sales In addition to maintaining the duties of a Sr. Assistant Sales Rep. as discussed below, as Supervisor I led a team of three Sales Assistants.
