Works underway
Work	has	now	started!	Here	is	a	summary	of	what	has	recently
October 2008: Connex	Mainco	Joint	Venture	Projects	(CMJV
Projects)	established	site	facilities	on	Railway	Avenue	(between
Merton	and	Linden	streets). As part of the project works, the existing pedestrian bridge
at Laverton Station will eventually be removed.
November 2008: A construction access road was created in the
informal	parking	area,	north	of	the	station.	This	road,	from	Maher
Road	to	the	rail	line,	enables	construction	work	to	occur
on	the	tracks.
February 2009:	CMJV	started	work	on	the	project	and	has
relocated power and signalling on the south side of the station
(between	the	M1	Princes	Freeway	and	Altona	loop).
March 2009: The	Department	of	Transport	(DOT)	awarded	a
contract	to	John	Holland	for	the	design	and	construction	of
bridge,	track	and	station	works.

A	diagram	of	the	changes	to	Laverton	and	the	station
area	is	on	the	reverse	side	of	this	flyer.	Works	are
scheduled	to	finish	in	2011.
