Aspen Technology Names Irwin Weiss as Chief
Cambridge, MA – March 15, 2004 – Aspen Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AZPN), a $323
million software and services provider to the process industries, today announced the
appointment of Irwin Weiss as the company’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Mr. Weiss
brings 25 years of experience in the planning and management of information systems to
AspenTech and has extensive experience in running large scale networks and global
computer operations for companies in the IT industry.
Prior to joining AspenTech, Mr. Weiss served as Chief Information Officer at Akamai
Technologies, Inc. where he created the company’s business information systems
architecture and worldwide computing platform to support Akamai’s rapid growth. Akamai
operates the world's largest on- demand distributed computing platform for conducting
e-business. Mr. Weiss has also served as Vice President of Information Technology for
Marcam Solutions, a developer of enterprise resource planning software and as a senior
IT manager for Viewlogic. He also has more than ten years of IT planning and consulting
experience. Mr. Weiss holds a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania.
