Forest Hill library
Forest Hill Library reopens on 11 December with thousands
of new books, new computers, DVDs and a new layout –
including a lounge area with sofas.

                                                                                                            ‘Lots of people have been peering
                                                                                                            round the door asking what’s
                                                                                                            happening and whether we’re going
                                                                                                            to re-open on time,’ says Christine.
                                                                                                            ‘People are looking forward to
                                                                                                            getting their library back.’
                                                                                                                During the closure, a mobile
                                                                                                            library spent three days a week on
                                                                                                            nearby Thorpewood Avenue. But
                                                                                                            plenty of other people helped to
                                                                                                            keep library services going too.
                                                                                                            Provender wholefoods shop on
                                                                                                            Dartmouth Road hosted the over 55s
                                                                                                            meeting, normally held at the library,
                                                                                                            while the under 5s groups met at
                                                                                                            Holy Trinity Church. And one kind
                                                                                                            person even agreed to host the adult
