							                               PART-TIME COMMUNICATOR

An opening exists for a part time Police Communicator with the Dryden Police Service. This
is an on-call, as required basis to cover holidays, sickness and leaves of absence. The
successful candidate must be available on short notice at times, and be able to work 12-hour
shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. The position requires excellent information-
taking skills, and involves receiving calls via telephone, radio and Regional 911, and
dispatching accurate information and directives for the Dryden Police Service, and a number
of other emergency services, including eight fire services.

Qualifications: Must possess a Grade 12 high school diploma, and a radio-telephone
operator’s restricted certificate (land). Must have above average computer skills and be
proficient in Microsoft applications, with the ability to type 40 wpm. The successful applicant
will also have above average communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work
independently.

As per the Collective Agreement the beginning salary is $22.13 per hour.
