Barrhaven has three police officers – Constable McDougall, Constable Yeomans and Sherry
Jordan who is the School Resource Officer for the Catholic Schools.

USEFUL NUMBERS TO CALL

9-1-1 Violent crime in progress or property crime in progress. These crimes have just occurred
and suspects were seen fleeing (you have a description and last direction). Above noted crimes
have JUST occurred and there is likely evidence at the scene (sexual assault) Car accident with
injuries dangerous. Dangerous or impaired driving and you are following, or JUST witnessed and
have a description and last direction. Medical emergency. Fire. Please provide as many details
and descriptions as possible and were applicable, ie. license number, model and color of car,
description of person(s) involved. Always get a case number from staff tending to your concerns
at this number. It is crucial to assist our office and the Police in future tracking of this incident.

For other emergencies, Alcohol and drug use in public (youth in parks or public intoxication).
Suspicious activity or vehicle. Youth under the age of 16 out between midnight and 6:00 am.
Disturbance or potential fight developing. Please provide as many details and descriptions as
possible and were applicable. i.e. license number, model and color of car, description of person(s)
involved. Always get a case number from staff tending to your concerns at this number. It is
crucial to assist our office and the Police in future tracking of this incident.

You can call this number to report to the Police after the fact, any damage to house, yard, or
vehicle, not in progress. Traffic complaints-general or specific. Disputes for record purposes (ie
neighbour, stalking, civil when fear exists). Sexual assaults reported at a later date where the
evidence is long gone-must attend the station to provide a written statement. Please provide
Police with as many details if possible, license number, colour and model number of the car.
