Danville teen’s identity made public
• Late last night a 17 year old Danville resident was shot. His identity has been made public as Rylan Fuchs. He died Wednesday morning at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek after being shot on his family’s front porch last night, according to Danville police Chief Chris Wenzel. The Police chief declined to comment on a motive for the shooting death of Rylan Fuchs, but many are asserting that the police believe the people who killed Fuchs knew him. • “We are confident that this was not a random act,” a representative said during a news conference in front of the Police Department. • Other news agencies are reporting that Fuchs was a senior at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville and was scheduled to graduate in June. • The police received a frantic 911 call around 9:15 p.m. According to reports, on Tuesday there was a single gunshot at the home of Fuchs’ family in the 1000 block of El Capitan Drive. When police responded, Rylan was on the front porch with a single gun shot wound to the neck. • This is Danville’s first homicide since January 2007, according to various reports.
