					Christmas Function Packages
At P.J. O’Brien’s we pride ourselves on the atmosphere we create, thus to provide the patron with what Irish
Pubs do best – a meeting place for good conversation, story telling and good humour.

P.J. O’Brien’s provides a fantastic location for any private or corporate Christmas event. With unique décor
and friendly professional staff, P.J. O’Brien’s is committed to ensuring your next function is an event to
remember. Please take a moment to peruse our Christmas function packages and let us look after your next
special event.



The Venue
P.J. O’Brien’s offers an array of areas throughout the venue to suit a variety of events and parties. For
smaller gatherings there are several areas within the main restaurant area that cater for up to 20 people. We
also have a Victorian section that can be cordoned off, and adequately fits up to 30 people sit down or 50
people for a cocktail party – ideal for after work drinks or farewells to a colleague etc. The Victorian area
offers the privacy of your own function but the added atmosphere of the downstairs bar.

Our upstairs balcony bar caters for larger celebrations. This function area has multiple uses. It can be used
for sit down meals for up to 100 people, it is perfect for cocktail parties for up to 200 people or why not
consider a simple, but different, BBQ Function for up to 200 people. The inside bar is a smoke free zone but
the adjoining balcony caters for the smokers.

Main Restaurant Section Downstairs - up to 20 sit down in various areas
Victorian Section - up to 30 sit down or 50 stand up
Upstairs Balcony Bar - up to 100 sit down or 200 stand up

Our Functions Manager Joanne is here to consult with you on the best use of the venue for your particular
function. We would be happy to make a time to meet with you at the venue and plan out the finer details.

Our bar offers a wide range of beverage including Guinness, Kilkenny, Harp, South Australia’s own Coopers,
quality spirits, cocktails and a good variety of wines. You can arrange a Bar Tab for your guests or drinks at
function bar prices.

Christmas Cocktail Events
Our Canape selection is designed for cocktail events with a minimum of 20 guests and we require at least 5
normal workings days notice of your numbers and canape menu choices.

Please advise our Functions Manager if you have any special dietary requirements.

Lunch & Dinner Set Menus
For bookings from 20 to 35 guests in our Victorian Section or Main Restaurant downstairs you are able to
select from either our Set Menu 1, Set Menu 2 or the Christmas Set Menu and must provide at least 5
normal working days of your numbers and menu choice. A $10 deposit per person is required for dinner
bookings over 20 people. This deposit will be forfeited if dining numbers are less than what was confirmed.

Please advise our Function Manager if you have any special dietary requirements.

Entree
Home Made Soup of the Day served with a hot bread roll
Home Made Bruschetta, finely chopped Roma tomatoes tossed with fresh basil, crushed garlic, extra virgin
olive oil served on crusty bread

Main
Traditional Fish & Chips, fresh fillet of fish in a light Coopers beer batter served with fat chips, garden salad,
tartare sauce and lemon wedge
Dublin’s Chicken Breast, oven baked chicken breast in creamy white wine sauce with bacon, mushrooms
and pine nuts served with creamy mash and seasonal vegetables
Lamb & Guinness Stew, an Irish Classic, an enjoyable home made stew, slow cooked lamb with mixed
vegetables in a rich gravy topped with creamy mash and pastry


Dessert
Chocolate and Baileys Mousse, topped with fresh cream & strawberries
Baked Apple Pie, served with creamy vanilla ice cream

400gm T-Bone, cooked to your liking served with creamy mash and seasonal vegetables with your choice of
mushroom, Diane, pepper or Guinness gravy
Dublin’s Chicken Breast, oven baked chicken breast in a creamy white wine sauce with bacon, mushrooms
and pine nuts served with creamy mash & seasonal vegetables
Grilled Atlantic Salmon, served on a bed of Mediterranean salad with a red wine balsamic vinegar

From the 8 November 2008 all bookings for over 35 people must order from the Christmas Menu and provide
at least 5 normal working days of your numbers and your booking will be seated in our upstairs functions
area.

Christmas BBQ Functions
From the 8 November 2008 we are able to hold BBQ Functions on the Balcony upstairs for a minimum of 50
guests and up to 200. Please provide at least 5 normal working days of your numbers and BBQ menu
option.

Please advise our Functions Manager if you have any vegetarian or special dietary requirements.

Terms & Conditions
Below are the terms and conditions relating to functions booked at P.J. O’Brien’s Irish Pub, 14 East Terrace, Adelaide.
Failure to adhere to these terms and conditions may result in the cancellation of your booking whereby you maybe be
liable for any loss incurred on our behalf.

       1.      $100 Room Hire Fee for the Upstairs Balcony Bar.
       2.      Room Hire will be waived for all dinner bookings over 50 people.
       3.      A deposit of $100 is required to for the Victorian Area for Cocktail Food Functions.
       4.      A $10 deposit per person is required for dinner bookings over 20 people. This deposit will be forfeited if dining
               numbers are less than what was confirmed.
       5.      Minors are not allowed unless accompanied and is in the presence of their own parent or guardian. Minors are
               not permitted to be on the premises after 10pm.
       6.      All persons attending your function must abide by the venues dress code regulations and be able to produce
               legal identification on request.
       7.      P.J. O’Brien’s reserves the right to refuse entry to any guest of the function should they not meet the above
               requirements.
       8.      The upstairs area cannot be open after 2am due to noise restrictions.
       9.      Functions booked on Saturday nights are aware that the upstairs area will open to the public at 10:30pm unless
               prior arrangement with the General Manager is made.
       10.     You will be solely responsible for the minimum spend requirement of $1000.00. This amount must be spent in
               the upstairs area. Any tab/account set up for your function can only be spent upstairs. You will make up any
               shortfall in minimum spend requirements.
       11.     As per Liquor Licensing laws, P.J. O’Brien’s reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated or
               behaving in a disorderly manner. P.J. O’Brien’s reserves the right to remove such persons from the premises.
       12.     P.J. O’Brien’s reserves the right to shut down the function at any times should the guest become unruly, or the
               number of guests is less than 30.
       13.     P.J. O’Brien’s cannot provide an itemised receipt. However it can provide a tax invoice with prior notice.
       14.     P.J. O’Brien’s reserves the right to provide entertainment. External entertainment including DJ’s, bands and
               taped/CD music cannot be used without the prior consent of the General Manager. In the case of having your
               own DJ or Band additional fees may be charged if our sound technician is required for set up or wiring. The
               hourly fee is to be paid directly to John Healey.
       15.     You are permitted to decorate the area to suit with the consent of the General Manager. However you will be
               liable for any damage caused as a result of the decoration.


I have read and fully understand the previously mentioned terms and conditions and I am willing to abide by them.

I am aware that I must meet the minimum spend requirement as mentioned above and that I am responsible for any
shortfall in the minimum spend.
