With musical influences ranging from old Gospel hymns, Hank Williams and even
AC/DC, Kevin Caudle and Bonified have a passion for music that moves you,
blending elements of rock, blues, gospel and country into a style that makes them a
favorite on the club scene. Born in Arab, Alabama, Caudle has lived most of his life in
the Gum Pond community of Morgan Country. As a young boy, he fell in love with
music through the a cappella old Gospel hymns sung in church. Through his church and
with the encouragement of his pastor, he attended singing classes and schools, learning
about music structure and rising to serve as a song leader. His first “public” performance
was singing a song to his wife at their wedding, and he has been bitten by the
performance bug ever since. Caudle bought a guitar and taught himself to play, and also
began writing his own songs. Caudle has now been performing for over 16 years, and
has been a lead singer with many popular local bands. He loves both old and new
country music, and has been compared to current stars Kenny Chesney and Rick Trevino.
Performing with his band Bonified, the group has an impressive musical background!
Each member brings their own personal talent plus their individual years of experience
and together produces a show that is energetic, engaging and sure to please today’s
country music fans. Collectively, the members have opened and played with a number of
well-known performers, including: Diamond Rio, Confederate Railroad, Marty Stewart,
Montgomery Gentry, Lone Star, Phil Vassar, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Lyle Lovett,
the Coasters, Billy Jo Royal, Trick Pony, Billy Dean and Allison Kraus. They have an
impressive list of well-known venues where the individual members have played,
including Gilley’s in Nashville and Fort Worth, Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, the Blue Bird
Café in Nashville and the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville. During the past two years,
this versatile group has played steadily in a variety of venues across the Southeast.
“Genuine and the Real Deal” are often used to describe Bonafide, as the group strives to
bring authentic entertainment to the stage. Band members include Kevin Caudle (C-band
leader, lead vocals, harmony vocal and rhythm guitar), Charlie Markham (Co-band
leader, lead vocals, harmony vocals and bass guitar), Steve Soto (vocals and lead guitar),
Dan Hoctor (vocals, keyboard and Hammond B-3), Bobby Street (steel guitar) and
Jimmy Riggs (drums.)
