					                         PERFORMANCE MUSIC AT REDLANDS COLLEGE
   BEGINNER INSTRUMENTAL TUITION 2008: YEAR 5 - BRASS, WOODWIND, PERCUSSION
                                  Terms and Conditions – PLEASE RETAIN THIS SECTION

   The Performance Music Programme: offers beginner tuition at the College to Year 5 students (individual or
   group lessons) in the instruments listed below. Tuition fees are applicable and GST may apply. The instrumental
   teachers issue progress reports twice yearly to parents and students.
   Lessons: are of half-hour duration. Junior School students may have the same lesson time each week.
   Instruments: Priority for use of school instruments is given to Year 5 beginner students in their first year of tuition
   only (subject to availability). Rental cost: $110 for the year (GST incl). Parents will be invoiced directly by the
   College for instrument rental; no cash should be brought by students to school.
   Costs: Tuition costs for individual lessons are $28.00 per half-hour (GST may apply). Group lessons (no more than 3
   students per group) are offered to beginner students, at $15.00 per half-hour.
   Payment: is a matter between the teacher and parents, with lessons invoiced for the term in advance and payable
   within two weeks of issue by the teacher concerned.
   Parents: need to provide an additional budget for their student’s lessons in order to purchase required music,
   strings, reeds, oils etc or other ongoing instrument maintenance. Photocopying of music is not permitted.
   Year 5 Beginner Students are committed to lessons for the full year.
   Absence: In the case of illness, it is required that the school be notified that the student had a music lesson
   scheduled with their instrumental teacher. Wherever possible, the teacher should also be notified personally by
   phone. In the case of exams, sports days, excursions, other activities etc, it is required that at least 48 hours notice
   be given to the instrumental teacher. It is the responsibility of the students/parents to notify their teacher of
   intended absences. Lessons missed without notification will be charged for.
   School Diary: Students must bring their diary to each lesson to have their lesson time signed off by the
   Instrumental teacher. The next scheduled lesson should be entered in the diary and initialled by the
   teacher.
