      Take advantage of the $20 discount ticket price for the LOVE BOAT -- THIS WEEK ONLY! Just fill
      out the reply card on the back of the invitation that you received in your child’s backpack.
      Include your payment and turn it in to the “Love Boat Reservations” box in the front office by
      FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20 for the discounted price of $20 per ticket. Reservations received after

      S.O.S.!!!! We need to borrow your holiday lights for the LOVE BOAT Event. Please bring us your
      clear, white, untangled holiday lights this Friday, February 20 before late start & after school.
      We’ll collect your light strands, tag them with your name & make sure they are returned to
      you. Please see us at the Love Boat Silent Auction Table in front of school. Contact: Eliza

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4...KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP...The high school graduating class of 2022 (wow!), has
Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, March 4, beginning at 8 a.m. All new kindergarten parents for next year should
attend this important orientation. We will talk about kindergarten and Grant School, answer questions, pass out information
and give a school tour. Most importantly, registration packets will be handed out and appointment times given. With the new
permit policy the district will now be accepting out of district permits. While prospective parents may not live in the Grant
attendance area they are welcome to attend the K Roundup. If you have any questions please call the office for information.

CHAT SERIES CONTINUES…This week we have two “Chats.” On Wednesday, February 25, all fourth grade parents are
invited to attend the 4th grade chat. The focus will be on state testing, fifth grade activities, Middle School, and an
explanation of the gifted program. We will start at 8:45 a.m. in the Wednesday. On Thursday, February 26, we will have a
preschool “chat” beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the auditorium. We will focus on enrollment in kindergarten, discussing the
kindergarten curriculum and the district permit process.

       Stepping Out for Grant - Calling all Green Geckos: Starting March 3, and every first Tuesday of the month, Eco
        Coastal Cleaners will donate 20% of your dry cleaning bill back to Grant. So, mark your calendar and gather your dry
        cleaning! Download your flyer from the e-packet (or pick one up in the office) and support a neighborhood business,
        the environment and Grant! Eco Coastal cleaners is located at 2723 Ocean Park Blvd. (28th St.)

       Dining out for Grant - Thursday, March 5, at Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill. 4250 Lincoln Blvd. (at Maxella) Marina Del
        Rey. Grant earns 20% with the flyer from 3 - 9 p.m. It can be an after school snack or dinner. There is plenty of
        parking, an outdoor patio, and they serve beer.

       Slice Pizza Family Night – Wednesday, March 11 is Grant Night at the Slice. Order your pizza and support Grant.
        No flyer is needed.

PENNIES FOR PEACE…Our Pennies for Peace fundraiser will end on Friday, February 27. All proceeds will go to the
Central Asian Institute that will use the donations for school supplies and the building of new schools in Pakistan and
Afghanistan. Coin jars have been placed in all classrooms and the main office. Thank you for your generosity.

As Black History Month comes to a close, We, the AASPG, would like to thank all the students who gave their time and
energy to read the poem and biographies: Trey Dawson, Mecca Donovan, Roland Marrow, Amy Moton,,Tommy Ruff and
Benjamin Terry. Special thanks to all the parent volunteers who put together the wonderful display in the main hallway. Mr.
Friedenberg, Mrs. Rebecca Johnson and the entire Grant family, thanks for keeping multiculturalism and inclusion a priority
at this school. We are all better served because of your efforts!
