Paradise Helping Victims of the Angora Fire
The Angora Fire currently raging in South Lake Tahoe is the worst natural disaster in the Lake Tahoe
area in over 50 years. Fire damage estimates exceed $100 million and the State of California has
declared a state of emergency for South Lake Tahoe on Monday. The Angora Fire has consumed 3000
acres and destroyed 275 residential homes and structures. More than 2700 firefighters are fighting the
blaze and it is currently only 44 percent contained. An additional 800 homes were evacuated when the
fire flared up again Tuesday afternoon. “There is nothing more devastating to a family than to lose
their home and all of their possessions. Hundreds of local South Lake Tahoe families have been
displaced and they desperately need our help,” said Dan Spano, President of Paradise Real Estate &
Timeshare Resale.

Paradise Real Estate & Timeshare Resale is helping to organize a coalition of concerned local
businesses to help the victims of the Angora Fire. Spano and his wife, Jana Ney Walker, owner of
Lakefront Wedding Chapel and Sealed with a Kiss, are spearheading the efforts of Tahoe Businesses
Who Care. They are recruiting local businesses to join the program and donate a percentage of their
gross revenues for the next week to assist the victims of this catastrophic fire.

“Tahoe Businesses Who Care raised $50,000 for victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. We
should more than double that effort for our friends, neighbors and community members who are in dire
need right now,” said Walker. She has agreed to donate 30% of the gross receipts from both of her
businesses. Spano will donate 20 percent of all commissions generated from timeshare resales. Both
are also accepting in-kind donations at their office locations. Paradise Real Estate & Timeshare Resale
is located at 1111 Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe. Sealed with a Kiss is located inside the
Shops at Heavenly Village, 1001 Park Avenue, #13.

“I am asking all Lake Tahoe area businesses and locals to join this collective effort to help our
neighbors. You may contribute any percentage you wish or make a one-time donation,” stated Dan
Spano. Businesses that participate in Tahoe Businesses Who Care will have signs posted in their
windows and storefronts to identify their generosity. Locals and tourists are encouraged to join this
effort by supporting these businesses. The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club will help collect donations from
Tahoe Businesses Who Care and distribute them to local nonprofit organizations that will help victims
of the Angora Fire.
