RECOMMENDATION

That CPHAC notes the contents of this memo.

DETAIL

Regional Public Health (RPH) notes the action point 212 from the CPHAC meeting
on 3rd August 2009 “RPH report – Send Debrief report to committee as soon as it is
available (by email)”.

RPH has now completed the report on our internal debrief and review of the RPH
response to the Influenza A (H1N1) 09 in the Wellington region. RPH will provide to
CPHAC April 2010 meeting a summary of the changes RPH will be making as a
result of this report and will be available to answer questions.

For the internal debrief process and report to have maximum value to RPH, it has
been carried out in the spirit of ‘free and frank disclosure’ within the confines of the
organisation. Consequently, it is not appropriate for RPH to provide the full report to
the Committee.

We understand each DHB in the region has also conducted a debrief, the results of
which may be of further interest to CPHAC.
