United States History Book Report Poster
FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS in order to earn the highest possible grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Your book must be chosen from the Oak Crest Library and must have a yellow label on the
spine, which indicates that there is a Reading Counts Quiz, which you will have to take for the
book. The time period must be chosen from the Colonial Period through the Civil War (1600’s –
1800’s). Choose your book and have it approved by your teacher!!!
2. Your book must have an absolute minimum of 100 pages of writing. No limit on the maximum.
Have it approved by your teacher! Everyone in a class will have a different title.
3. Your report will be orally presented in front of the class and must last a minimum of two minutes
and maximum of two and a half minutes.
4. Use a 12” x 24” piece of poster board (not foam board) as the foundation. (You will have to cut the
poster board in order to make it the right size. Poster board costs a dollar or less and can be found at many stores.)
5. You absolutely must Have Your Book to show the class and Reading Counts Quiz to get full
credit for your report. The Oak Crest Library automatically extends the due date for this project.
6. There will be six parts on the foundation piece as shown below. Each part can be “framed” by
using colored construction paper cut to the appropriate shape. This will make your poster more
colorful. Remember that how it looks is as important as what is on it. Everything counts.
7. Remember that this project counts as two test grades!!!
You may change the shapes and sizes of the parts, but the locations should stay the same!
Nothing should hang or extend off of the poster!
