RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP
OF MOUNT OLIVE ENDORSING A CHANGE IN THE TRAFFIC
LIGHT PHASING AT THE INTERSECTION TO ROUTE 206
               AND MAIN STREET/FLANDERS-NETCONG ROAD

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Council have received numerous complaints about
the intersection of Route 206 and Main Street/Flanders-Netcong Road due to one person making
a left hand turn which in turn backs traffic up for very long periods of time during rush hour; and

WHEREAS, the Township believes there is a public need for a change in the traffic light
phasing at the intersection of Route 206 and Main Street/Flanders-Netcong Road to include a
“alternate green” in order to relieve the backing up of traffic at those intersections which is
caused by traffic tie ups and back ups to the annoyance of the traveling public as well as to
residents in close proximity to the intersection; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of
Mount Olive that it does hereby endorse the concept of an alternate green to be included at the
traffic light phase at the intersection of Route 206 and Main Street/Flanders-Netcong Road;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be sent to all
legislators representing the Township of Mount Olive, the Morris County Board of Freeholders
who maintain the jurisdiction of Flanders-Netcong Road as well as to the Director of the
Department of Transportation.

                                             _________________________________________

I, Lisa M. Lashway, Township Clerk of the Township of Mount Olive do hereby certify that the
