To provide our students who possess limited or no human
resource background with the best learning experience, it is
strongly recommended and most beneficial to begin the program
with the Introduction to Human Resources class followed by
Human Resource Management and the Law. No entrance exam or
formal business administration education is required. To succeed
in our program, it is highly recommended that you have some
experience in human resources or in a supervisory role.
Earning the Certificate
This comprehensive program can be completed within two years.
To receive a certificate, you must receive a passing grade or credit
in all eight courses within four years of starting the program.
Course Credit
Each course carries three units of Professional Development
X-level credit, approved through SDSU’s College of Business
Administration. X-level courses are designed to meet special
or professional needs and do not apply toward undergraduate
or graduate degree programs at SDSU. Other universities may
accept X-level credit as credit toward degree programs; check
with specific universities for verification. You may elect to receive
credit/no credit or a letter grade for each course. Grades and
program graduation are posted on an official SDSU transcript.
