A
Booklets
Business opportunity booklets (or Lead Generation booklets) are excellent for sending to people about the business. For about 8p a booklet you can introduce a person to the spoils of FREEDOM, FINANCIAL SERCURITY, FUN, and LIFESTYLE. Why not set a target for yourself and hand them out to SELECTED people either outside a supermarket or on the high street. (Don‟t waste them aimlessly though. Ask “Are you interested in running your own business from home?” Explain that for a small investment of time and money they could be enjoying the week earning what they are worth NOT what somebody pays them!)
Adverts in Papers.
A small advert linking to the web-site if you have email is priceless. Got a Computer? Work from Home. FREE Information, Log online;

Bumper Stickers
Got a car? Turn it into a moving advert. Herbalife have magnetic strips that magnetically stick to your car. Go to a graphics design shop and get another strip printed up with your telephone number (costs about £15) so that while people driving behind you see “LOSE WEIGHT NOW, ASK ME HOW” they can call you. You could even use the mobile telephone number so that you can speak with them straight away. If you do this make sure you have products and or brochures in the car so that you can complete the sales on the spot.
Art of Promotion.
You must remember now that HERBALIFE is YOUR Company and it is yours to run and earn as much as you want from it. Art of Promotion is a very subtle but very effective way to promote people‟s awareness of exactly what you do EVEN if you are only part-time. Wearing an Herbalife T-shirt, Baseball Cap or even a watch often sparks up conversations about The Herbalife Opportunity that otherwise may not have existed.
B
Badges
Your badge tells people that your shop is open for business. It may in the beginning look like a satellite dish but make sure you where it everywhere and get extra badges to put on all of your clothing. There are many distributors who make all of their business off of JUST the button / badge.
Business Cards
Again, this is being prepared. A professional cares business card ALL the time. It doesn‟t look too good if a serious prospect asks you for your details and you have to scribble it on a piece of paper

Career Manual
This is like your „Bible‟ of information. Everything you should need to know is in here. The first section is in the form of a presentation that can be used over and over again to explain the benefits of the Herbalife Products, The Herbalife Opportunity and the Marketing plan. It even goes into detail about each of the products.
Be Prepared!
It can be so embarrassing when someone asks you “HOW” off of your “Ask me how” badge. Always make sure you have some literature and or leaflets and business cards so that if you‟re in a hurry you don‟t completely lose the lead. Some of the best customers come off of your badge (as well as Distributors. Alan Lorenz was signed up because his sponsor was wearing her badge in a nightclub).
Children
Children are the most powerful purchasers in the world. If they want something, they usually get it. So don‟t neglect your customers children (Birthdays and Christmas). Try and gain your customer‟s children as extra business. Once they buy from you for the children they will be locked in with the products themselves a lot stronger.
Bills
Why not place an Opportunity flyer in with all your bills (electricity, gas, telephone, etc…)

Circle of Influence
Any person looking at Herbalife seriously has to at least inform friends and relative about what they are doing. How would you feel if after 6 month you bump into an old friend and he says to you he is earning £4,000+ a month and he‟s having fun working at home! Would you want to know WHY he didn‟t call you at the beginning? MAKE a list of every body you know and tell them as quickly as you can with enthusiasm. (Many will say no thank-you but this isn‟t a fixed NO! When you see them again in six months and you‟re STILL having fun and your income has gone up a couple of thousand, they may NOW want to know more!)
H
H.B.N. – Herbalife Broadcast Network
Three times a week Herbalife transmits H.B.N. to train us in our homes via the Television. This is an incredible tool that you can sit customers and potential distributors in front of and watch whilst it does your work for you. It includes distributor training, international H.O.M.‟s Product knowledge and Promotions as well as keeping you in touch with what is happening in the Herbalife world, around the world.

Hotel Booking
Key words are: “Is this the lowest rate you have?” Hotels set room rates at the very highest prices they can expect to get. If you say nothing and accept any rate, they will be delighted. When the price however is mentioned to you, repeat “Is this the lowest rate you have on this room?” Before you accept any room, it‟s prudent to look at it first to be sure you like it. If you have time shop around two or three hotels and go back to the one you like most and explain that so-and-so hotel offered you a special rate of “X” dollars (truthfully only). Often you‟ll end up with the room of your choice at a very low rate.
Discounted Customers
A great way to entice people to do a little business is to signup regular customers as a Distributor (call them Discounted customers though as they may NOT want to distribute). However if they come to you with referrals make sure they get their profit so they can see how lucrative the business is even whilst not working very hard. You never know, one day they may lose their comfy job and decide they WOULD like to take Herbalife seriously.

Email
Technology allows us to communicate internationally a lot easier. Don‟t worry if you don‟t know how. It will come to you. It‟s just the same as writing a letter or a postcard, just it gets there a lot quicker. All emailing software comes with a comprehensive user guide built in so all you have to do is read the instructions and click, type and send.

The O.K. Team (All down-line of Roni Kermode and Ossey Osmond – U.K. President‟s Team) has a web-site at www.HBIN.com that can be used to generate Internet leads to the business. The cost to have your own access code is £25 British pounds and membership can be purchased from Roni Kermode.

Leaflets
This is an excellent way to work and very duplicable (always take a member of your down-line out with you whilst flyering as it will help teach them what to do to build a customer and distributor base. My printers are a company called G.B.S. Print on 01422-364810 (ask for Rebecca as she does an excellent service). Cost is around £60 British pound for 20,000 A6 sized leaflets and takes about 10 days including proofs. Put out 1,000+ of each product and business flyers and see your business blossom within a few weeks.
Faxes to Businesses.
Set your modem or fax machine to send out 20 single page faxes over night (cheapest rate) to businesses in your area. Advertise weight lose and ask for them to be placed it on the staff noticeboard.
First Class – Business class seats.
Key words are “Courtesy Upgrade”. Upon check-in at the airport ask, “Is it possible to obtain a courtesy upgrade to first class or business class?” If you happen to fly with them often say that you are a frequent flyer with them. If you are an investor in stocks, here is another tip. Why not buy some shares in the airline and this will allow you to ask as a shareholder.
Library
A small poster in your local library will generate a good local response.
Follow-up = Fortune.
This is very important to remember. The follow-up will allow you to keep customers on track for their result, which will result with, re-orders, happy customers and referrals.

An internet online promotion service. This is an affordable online service that acts like a lineage advert but on the internet. For example you can purchase (Program 4) a year of 2 advertisements a day. This is a total of 730,000 adverts throughout the year (at between 600 to 1,500 different advert locations). Out and About Section.
If placing adverts in your local papers not let them force you into the jobs or opportunities sections or diets and weight lose sections. Often the best pages are the “What‟s on” or “Out and About” that tell the reader what on T.V. or what special things are going on in their city, town or village.

Mailboxes
I run people through a screening process and a great way to get them to show persistence and seriousness is by giving my address and asking them to send a loose stamp to get some printed information (if they have internet access I send them to the internet instead). Many times instead of sending their information they have decided to come and knock on the door. To stop this from happening I say to them that this is a P.O. Box address. It cost me £140 for the year and I got it from MailBoxes Etceteras just off Tottenham Court Road. Their telephone number is (0171) 209 3165. If you sign up with them please mention that you are a referral from Andy Murray (I don‟t get a commission!)

Pole-posters
Live in the middle of nowhere? No lampposts to put posters on? Pole posters can be “staked out” along the roadside. Nail the poster to the end of a pole about 3 to 4 feet in length. The are more efficient placed near roundabouts and at road junctions.
Postcards
This is a cheap way to place adverts all over the country. Also an excellent ways for you to have a conversation with your circle of influence, WITHOUT pitching the business directly at them. Call up every-one that you know and ask them to photocopy one or two pages from their local Yellow Pages, Business Pages, and Thompson Local. The pages that contain the NEWSAGENTS in their area (Make sure you tell them that this is because you‟ve started your own business working at home and are looking for other people in their area to also work at home). The next step is to decide how much a month you can afford to place in this form of marketing (keep it as low as possible). Call up the newsagents one at a time and ask them IF they place postcards in their window how much they charge. Don‟t pay more than 50 pence per week. Explain to the keeper that you are going to send a cheque with your advert for 6 month and ask if this is ok. If so ask if you can get a special deal. Often they‟ll give you an extra month or two for FREE. Make sure to log the details and make your address with a unique department for each advert so you can see if it pulls any leads for you. MailShot
Tony and Penny Wing were signed up with a mailshot from Alan Lorenz. This is a very time efficient way to work.
Meetings
Go to as many local and international meetings as you can get to. Make sure you go to at least one S.T.S. a month. The reason for this is that if you make the conscious effort to go you will work extra hard to make sure you take at least one guest to the training with you.

Nappies
Many mums after giving birth would love to lose some weight so make sure you leave a hand full of flyers in the shelf next to the nappies in your local supermarkets.
Posters
This is one of my favourite forms of advertising. You do however need to be careful as some councils don‟t like them up in their area. For as little as £235 you can get 1,800 A5 (105 x 148mm) posters with anything you want on them (including pictures). My contact is Louise at ???????

Don‟t forget about your customers and distributors. Once a person is a customer he is always your customer (even if he hasn‟t purchased anything in over a year). “If you don‟t look after your customers, someone else will!” Make sure you inform them of other successes whilst their taking the products as well as any news about new products, new countries open for business, etc. Always offer a discount or an upgrade for any referrals as well as asking if they know people looking for work.
Products (Taking them in public)
This is one of the cheapest ways to advertise and build interest in what you are doing.
Prize Draws in Local Gyms.
Cover an empty nutrition box with wrapping paper, make a clear to read poster stating the reason for the draw and offer a FREE nutrition for the winner. The best form is to get the applicant to complete a questionnaire with a section that asks if there are any people in the family who need to LOSE or GAIN weight and any people with poor health. Then ask directly for names and Telephone numbers as referrals.

Super Market
Most Superstore‟s have a „Customer Noticeboard‟ where customers can sell cars, bikes, prams, computers etc and advertise wanted nannies, cleaners‟ etc. Often you can place both your business opportunity adverts and the product adverts here. Many run for one to two weeks.
Referrals
These are SO CRUCIAL to your business. Think about this. Why go out for 4 hours doing flyers to get another new customer when, helping your present customers get a GREAT result they often turn around and give you other customers (their friends and work colleagues who have noticed the result and want the same!) Some times however they don‟t think about it so make sure that you ask for them. If they still don‟t help you out offer them a large discount off of next months products (if your at 50% you could even give them it for FREE for three or more referrals).
Surveys
See Questionnaires. We don‟t do surveys. Surveys are simply information gathering, but we intend to use the information. This is known as a Questionnaire.
Renting a Mercedes (For personal fun)
Key words are “Courtesy Upgrade”. Always rent a midsized car before travelling anywhere. When you arrive at the service desk ask, “Do you have a Mercedes or other luxury car available?” They say “Yes” nearly every time. Then say, “I‟m a good customer of your company. May I have a courtesy upgrade to the Mercedes for the price of the mid-sized car I reserved?” The number of times you get the luxury car for the low rate is delightfully high.

Table in a Restaurant (The Best…)
Key words are “Celebrating tonight”. When calling for reservations say, “I‟d like the very best, most special table you have. We‟re celebrating tonight. What can you do for us?” If the maitre d‟ asks what you are celebrating (unless of course, it‟s a birthday, anniversary, sales achievement or other special event) say, “We‟re celebrating starting our own new business!”
Talking
This is the FREEST form of advertising you can get and it‟s easy to do. Get a good script from another distributor until you master it in your sleep.

Telesales
Do you already enjoy talking on the phone? Why not call people up and ask a short questionnaire over the phone. Or even better, explain to the person at the other end of the phone that your health and nutrition company has been doing a leaflet campaign in their area and ask if they had received theirs. If the answer is “No, what was it about?” then they‟ve just invited you to have a conversation about the products (or the opportunity if that was the leaflet you explained to them!)

Ihow can you get information to everybody? Or, atleast to as many people as possible? As well as handing leaflets to people on the street, through letter-boxes and on cars why not staple 5 or 6 at a time fanned out to a wooden telegraph pole? Different! I‟ve had people pulling them off to take home before I‟m even 100 yards away and some even follow me to stop me for a chat!

Find it hard to get information from your upline (maybe their in another country) or impossible to remember to pass on ALL the information on time to ALL of your downline. You have to get TOUCHFON it‟s excellent. (http://www.touchfon.com) or call distributor relations in your country and get them to fax or post you the registration form.
Stickers
A great little advert is a little sticker big enough to stick on the back of a 5p piece.
