In pyroelectric sensors a temperature change results in a change of spon-
taneous polarization of the sensitive material, which causes a buildup of
charge at the electrodes. These charges are converted with an amplifier to a
signal voltage at the detector output. The voltage is proportional to the
incident radiation flux.
Our pyroelectric sensors, based on lithium tantalate, are distinguished by a
very high detectivity. They are well suited for various applications,
including gas analysis, IR-spectrometry, remote temperature measurement
and for use in security systems.
