ELL Supervisor Job Description Position Title: ELL supervisor Division : Office of Academics Position Purpose: Assists the Director in providing a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of theory, practice, developments, in innovations in the development and management of ELL programming; creative leadership in planning, implementing and reviewing ELL curricula; knowledge of laws and regulations affecting ELL programs. Supervision Reports directly to the director of English Language Learners (ELL). Received: Supervision Provides leadership for this service units of the ELL Department (Teaching English to exercised: Speakers of Other Languages [TESOL], Latino Consent Decree [LCD], English as a Second Language [ESL], and the Language Academy) and the ELL staff in the field. Responsibilities: • Works cooperatively with school principals and provides leadership for staff or serve the needs of ELL students in the district by working with all diverts DLL communities. • Assist in the development and implementation of new ELL E models. • Assist school administrators in developing and/or recommending professional development activities, programs for improvement of instruction, and action regarding yellow teaching efficiency. • Research national and international developments in DLL instruction and advise on a proper programs for adoption or dedication in the district, especially programs serving students of reverse ethnic backgrounds, who may be immigrants and those with special cultural and language needs. • Work cooperatively with diverse District and community groups to identify, and develop and promote diversity (multi-cultural, gender, disability awareness, sensitivity, and fairness) in curriculum and yellow instructional programs. • Assist in the full range of managerial/administrative and supervisory functions commensurate with a level of this position. • Assist in the development and Control Department budget in consultation with the director of yellow programs. • Assist in developing and articulating a vision of the DLL Department to community agencies and the media. • Write federal, state and local grants for additional funds to provide supplemental moneys for the yellow learners. • Create, design, and helped to maintain DLL documents, forms, data, etc. Qualifications: Required • Minnesota licensor as a school administrator. • Regular education. K-12 E S L, bilingual education. • Experience with lifelong learners including adults . • Experience managing people . • Advance knowledge of graphics word-processing presentation spreadsheets and data base management programs. • Demonstrated success in writing federal and state grants. Preferred • Knowledge of school district programs, policies, and operations. • Thorough understanding of second language acquisition. • Ability to work effectively in collaboratively with others. • Terms of This is a full-time , 12 month (a year around) position. employment The minimum starting salary is _______ annually.
