     www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_regreps_listing.cfm

        a. The task of the regional representative is to establish a regional network composed
of local representatives for each congregation. Each regional network facilitates

          agency.

        b. Regional Mobilizers represent World Missions to the Christian Reformed churches
in their region, and represent these congregations to World Missions.

        c. Regional Mobilizers work with local church representatives, provides churches
with resources for their mission programs.

        d. Regional Mobilizers assist the churches with planning mission emphasis weeks, or
setting up programs such as Faith Promise Giving.

   1. "The Go Guide"
The Go Guide is a manual for short-term teams written from the Reformed perspective.
This 122-page, spiral-bound, interactive guide is useful for pre-field training as well as
debriefing and re-entry back into the North American context. The focus of this tool is on
people preparation rather than travel details. There are 12 sections exploring topics like
intercultural sensitivity, team dynamics (including a sample "team covenant" for
participants to consider), health issues, giving a verbal witness, initial language learning,
keeping in the Right Company (which offers a series of devotions to use during ministry),
resisting the Evil One, safety concerns and transitioning back from the host culture.
What makes this manual stand out from the crowd is the clear vision it gives of what
missions is and is not, and the way it demonstrates the influence of Reformed thinking on
one's approach to ministry. If you are considering a role with a short-term mission team,
or your church is putting a team together, don't leave before you work through this
manual! Price: US $6 and CAN $7.50 (includes shipping to the Continental U.S., Alaska,

II. OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_opportunities.cfm

   A. Preliminary Application for Service with World Missions
   www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_ministry_info.cfm

   B. Teaching Opportunities
   www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_teaching.cfm
World Missions facilitates the contractual arrangements made between professional
educators who are members of the CRC and a variety of schools/organizations around the
world. In a given year approximately 100 teachers are on some such assignment. Though
schools/institutions prefer a multiple-year contract, exceptions are frequently made based on
pressing needs. Most international schools require teacher certification (with some
exceptions) while organizations focusing on ESL teaching do not.

   C. Short- and Long-term Ministry
   www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_ministry.cfm

      1. Short-Term Ministry

          a. Summer
          www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_smp.cfm
Summer volunteers participate in our Summer Mission Program (SMP). Primarily
designed for college-aged young people, the SMP is a six to eight week program
which begins in mid-June with a week of orientation in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Volunteers are then sent out in teams to locations across the globe. In the summer of
2003, volunteers headed to the Philippines, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Eastern
Europe (working in Hungary, Romania, and the Ukraine). The work they did varied
from team to team--some did medical work, some taught English, some helped out in
mission offices--but all sought to share the love of God with those they met.

          b. Partner
          www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_short_partner.cfm
Partner missionaries serve on one year assignments which may be extended by
mutual consent between the missionary and CRWM. Partners are usually teachers
who are employed by a World Missions partner agency. The partner agency
ordinarily provides their salary, housing, travel, and medical insurance. Additional
support may be raised through CRWM.

          c. Associate
          www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_short_assoc.cfm
Associate missionaries also serve on one year assignments which usually may be
extended by mutual consent between the missionary and CRWM. Associates are
usually teachers who are employed by World Missions but teach for an overseas
school. World Missions provides their salary, housing, travel, and medical insurance.
All support is raised through CRWM.

       d. Intern
An intern is a student who is enrolled in or completing seminary. Interns are
appointed to serve specific lengths of time in order to fulfill field education
requirements specified by the seminary. World Missions provides their salary,
housing, travel, and medical insurance, and support is raised through CRWM.

   2. Long-Term Ministry
Long-term, or "career" missionaries are those committed to serving for many years. That
can be as few as five years, or 40 or more! It's not always possible to know if God is
calling you to a mission field for 40 years, but those who commit to long-term service
feel pretty strongly that missions is the career God has for them.

D. Summer Mission Program
www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_smp.cfm
Summer volunteers participate in our Summer Mission Program (SMP). Primarily designed
for college-aged young people, the SMP is a six to eight week program which begins in mid-
June with a week of orientation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Volunteers are then sent out in
teams to locations across the globe. In the summer of 2003, volunteers headed to the
Philippines, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Eastern Europe (working in Hungary, Romania,
and the Ukraine). The work they did varied from team to team--some did medical work,
some taught English, some helped out in mission offices--but all sought to share the love of
God with those they met.

E. Encounters Calling International
www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_encounters.cfm
Learning about God’s call in your life is not a destination, it’s a journey. ENCOUNTERS is a
leadership program designed to give teens and post-high individuals experiences in a
ministry atmosphere in order to develop their sense of mission and calling. Through
ENCOUNTERS, you will discover God and discover your place as His child through
ministry experiences.

ENCOUNTER Calling International is one of three phases ENCOUNTERS offers for
leadership development through short-term missions. ENCOUNTER Calling International
Phase 2 is administered through Christian Reformed World Missions Summer Mission
Program. For more information, check out: www.youthunlimited.org/encounters/

III. OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT

  A. Local Church Reps
  www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_localrep.cfm
Become a World Missions representative in your local congregation. If your church does not
yet have a local rep, please consider helping CRWM by motivating your congregation to be
praying for and supporting missions worldwide.

  C. Poster Contest:
  www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_postercontest_main.cfm
Every year, hundreds and hundreds of children from across Canada and the US enter the
poster contest. Each entrant receives a prize from World Missions. Some posters are selected
by the judges to become bulletin covers. World Missions produces a variety of original
bulletin covers each year with photography from around the world, but our most-often
requested bulletin covers are the ones made from the first-place winners of the annual Poster
Contest. Get your Sunday School kids, catechism students, Christian school students or your
own children at home involved. It's never too early to expose your children to missions! Call
Liz Busuttil 800-730-3400 (Canada) or Marcea Brower 800-346-0075 (US).

  D. Make A Donation
Christian Reformed World Missions invites you to participate in bringing salvation to the
  ends of the earth.

     1. "Faith Promise Giving"
     www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_mee_fpg.cfm
In Faith-Promise giving, individual church members--including adults, young people and
children--are asked to prayerfully consider what amount of money God may be calling
them to give for specific missionaries, projects or agencies as suggested by the
congregation, usually through its missions or evangelism or outreach committee. These
commitments stand alongside other church giving commitments.
Simple, two-sided card explains faith promise giving with tips for starting a faith promise
giving program in your church. This card can be downloaded from the internet
     www.crcna.org/site_uploads/uploads/wmre_brochure_faithpromise.doc or
     www.crcna.org/site_uploads/uploads/wmre_brochure_faithpromise.pdf or ordered by
     phone.
