   Purpose:                   This unit will enable students to plan documents, draft text, prepare final text and produce documents of some complexity i.e. a long report

                              Evaluation will be via internal assessment.

Notes:
 This subject timetable is to be used as a guide only.
 You MUST be available in week 17 for assessment purposes. This may include catch-up classes, missed tests or final tests. Failure to attend if required during this week
  may result in a fail for the subject.
 Tests/assignments will be held at the end of each topic group. You must attempt all learning outcomes.
 All assessments must be attempted and a minimum grade of 50% for all assessments and assignments must be achieved.
 If you fail a test, a re-sit may take place or an extra assignment will be set covering the topic failed.
 To gain a pass in this subject you must achieve a final aggregate result of 50% or more.
 Missed class tests.
  It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not miss class tests.
  If you cannot sit a scheduled test you MUST notify the subject teacher BEFORE the test and provide a medical certificate as soon as you return to the Institute.
  A zero mark will be recorded for a missed test without documentary evidence.

   * Students are expected to utilize the writing hub (located at the back of the cafeteria) to have their work looked over and to receive help with the editing process.
   The assessments are to be signed off at the writing hub from the person who looks over your work).

    1. Folio (class activities) 30% - Please see separate handout detailing each activity

          This part of your assessment will require you to complete the activities in the book and submit the lot in a folio to be eligible for the 30%
         of the marks allocated for this assessment. The exercise will help you with the major assignment so it is important that you keep up to
         date. It will be completed in class. The folio is due:

Test: 20% (Formal assessment) Wk 8 in class 10% is a letter and memo writing exercise.

         On letter writing, memos and short reports, sales letters, etc.
