The Book of Daniel with its
 two-fold line will help us
        understand
   • 1- Historical and prophetic
   • 2- Typical and spiritual

                   2 3
The Book of Daniel covers and
outlines a period of 2500 years of the
history of this world, which was
designated by the Lord Jesus Himself
                  as
     “the times of the Gentiles”
“Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles
until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”
                                    Luke 21:24
The outline of this period is given
    to us in chapters 2, 7, 8, and 9
In chapter 2 we have the image of Nebuchadnezzar’s
                       dream.
Chapters 7 and 8 are enlargements of chapter 2
explaining what is contained in the image of that
                       dream.

                         4 5

• The Persian Empire ( Chest and arms of silver)

    and part clay)
 According to the vision which
Daniel received these kingdoms
     will be destroyed by

The Ram and the Goat of chapter

How does this concern us?

Because there is a spiritual side to
           all of this.
  The Spiritual Feature Of This
             History
The spiritual feature of the Book is that it
shows us that for the past 2500 years the
government of this world has been in the
hands of the Gentiles. However, in the midst
of this situation, God wants to make sure that
               we understand that,
          HEAVENS RULE.
     How does He rule?
The answer to which leads us to:

Daniel and his three friends.
Now the question before us is,
      What do they represent?
Daniel and his friends were the
 expression and the representation of
the Rule of Heaven. And this Rule of
Heaven relates to a Person known as :
         THE SON OF MAN
And the testimony of this Person is the testimony
                   of Jesus.
“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of
                  prophecy."
                     Rev. 19:10
      This Testimony Requires a
                Vessel
• Daniel and his friends were the vessel of the
  testimony in that dispensation.
• The overcoming Church of Jesus Christ is the
vessel of the testimony in this dispensation
 Similarity between
       Ends
        and
    Beginnings

• The Word of God despised.
• Mixture in the holy things.
As it was then so it is now.
Thus the Word of God in
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where
is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting
                           place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came
into being?" declares the LORD. "This is the one I esteem:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my
                             word.
3 But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man,
and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's
neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who
presents pig's blood, and whoever burns memorial incense,
like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own
ways, and their souls delight in their abominations.
                        (Isaiah 66:1-3).
 God requires ultimate conformity
       to the original light
Light is given in the beginning and light is
recovered at the end, but with extra emphasis.
That light given at the beginning and the light
recovered at the end is with the special object of
being conformed to. The beginning of an age is
marked by light always. The end of an age is
also marked by that same light being brought
into view, but with an added emphasis of a
demand for conformity to the original light.
Light is always a feature of the beginning of a new era
and dispensation. But as the dispensation closes, once
again that light is brought into view with God’s double
emphasis for conformity to the original light.
If we are in the end, God is going to recover the
original light for those who have a willing heart to be
conformed. And if at an end time ministry we come in
touch with the true light, God is going to take great
pains to see that we do not just handle this thing as a
teaching, but he will deal with us in such a way as to
bring us into living fellowship with the light.
Does it not tell us that the end is
                  near?
The Lord is out to perfect the instrument of His testimony
as to the sovereignty of His Son. Isn’t he working to bring
the instrument, as He brought the instrument in the Book
of Daniel, into a living and experiential relationship with
Himself for His eternal purpose? How practical were
things with Daniel and his three friends. They were very
practical. The Lord worked out His testimony in them and
through them by the experiences that they went through.
That was and is the testimony of the victory of life over
death. And that is where we are. God is seeking to bring
about conformity to the light at the end.
