Docstoc MyDocs is the fastest and friendliest way to store, preview and manage your documents –
there’s virtually no load time to preview your documents because MyDocs is tailored specifically for
documents. With several different options for viewing your documents, it’s never been easier to
organize and view your documents. Since all your documents are stored online with MyDocs, you can
access them from anywhere with an Internet connection.
To get started, you’ll first need to be a
registered Docstoc user. Registration is free
and quick, join here. Once logged in, click
the "MyDocs" tab located in the top
navigation bar. Here you will find any
documents you’ve uploaded to Docstoc. If
you haven’t uploaded any documents to
Docstoc, try our Bulk Upload Tool, the Docstoc OneClick application, or Docstoc Sync.
Thumbnail and List Mode: MyDocs offers two views for your documents. Thumbnail mode will show
the first page of each document. List mode will display list of your documents with additional
attributes. Click the button to switch between views.
Preview Documents: Effortlessly preview all of your documents by clicking the document thumbnail
(in Thumbnail mode) or double clicking the document name (in List mode).
Showing and Hiding Folders: Click the "Show/Hide" button to
display or hide your personal folder tree. The folder tree is
displayed in the left column of MyDocs.
Full Screen Mode: See more of your documents by switching to
over to full screen mode. Simply click the "Full Screen" button in
the top right corner of MyDocs. To return to normal view, click
the "close" button also located in the top right corner.
Mark Documents Public/Private: Quickly make documents
private or public by clicking the checkbox in the lower left corner
of each document thumbnail followed by clicking the "Make
Private" button located in the top menu.
Edit Document Meta Data: Organize your documents into your
own personal folders and edit document information such as
titles, tags and more.
Download, Email, Create Folders: Quickly download or email
any of your documents by selecting them (clicking the checkbox
next to each document) and clicking the appropriate button
located at the top of MyDocs.

How to Embed Documents
Step 1: Create an account on docstoc and upload the document(s) you want to embed on your website or
blog to docstoc.
Step 2: After upload is complete, click on the Profile tab and scroll down to the "my documents" section,
where you will see a complete list of your documents. Click on the document you want to display on your
Step 3: From the "Document Display" page, you will find a button that says "embed this doc". Click on
the button and you can copy and paste the embed code.
Step 4: You can change the width and height of the embedded document on your site by adjusting the
values in the "width" and "height" boxes.
Step 5: You can also choose whether to display "related documents", "other documents by this user" and
"document statistics" at the bottom of your embedded document, by checking (or unchecking) those

Docstoc Sync is a simple downloadable application that automatically syncs documents from your
computer to Docstoc MyDocs. Effortlessly upload your documents and keep them private for easy access
anytime, anywhere. Or publish any document or folder of documents publicly on Docstoc by putting it in
your "Docstoc Public Documents" folder from your desktop.

About Docstoc Sync
Docstoc Sync is a downloadable application that runs on your PC or Mac. You can select which folders you
wish to sync with Docstoc. The application will check these folders for changes and automatically sync any
new or updated documents with Docstoc MyDocs. By default, Docstoc Sync will upload and sync all your
documents privately on Docstoc, so no one else can view these documents without your permission. In
addition Docstoc Sync installs a folder on your desktop called "Docstoc Public Documents", where you can
easily upload any document to Docstoc publicly.
Installing Docstoc Sync
Click here to download and install Docstoc Sync.
After the install, you’ll see the Docstoc Sync welcome screen. Here you can set some of the initial settings
for Docstoc Sync. Before clicking start
1) Publish all documents I add to the Docstoc directory
on my desktop as Public
If you select this option, Docstoc Sync will create a new
folder on your desktop called “DocStoc Public Documents”.
Any files (or even folders) you drag and drop here will be
uploaded as public documents to Docstoc. Any subfolders you
create in your Docstoc Public Documents folder will be
mirrored on your Docstoc MyDocs.
2) Synchronize documents under My Documents as
Your My Documents folder (on PC) or your Documents folder
(on Mac) will automatically be synced with your Docstoc
MyDocs – all your documents will be uploaded and stored
privately and secure on Docstoc for any time, anywhere
access. All documents in these desktop folders will be
continuously updated, so any new documents you create and
save to your my Documents folder on your desktop will
automatically be on Docstoc MyDocs without any additional
3) Select additional directories to synchronize
If you store documents in other folders on your computer you
can also sync these files using Docstoc Sync. Simply check
this box and click start. On the following screen, click “Add a
Directory” to specify your additional directories. You can set
Docstoc Sync to find and sync all documents on your
computers with Docstoc MyDocs. Just click on the highest
level directory (the C:\ drive, for example).

After the install, Docstoc Sync will start working right away. In the background your documents are
synced effortlessly. You will have a small system tray application as shown in the below image.
Clicking the Docstoc Sync icon in your system tray (located in the bottom right corner of the screen) will
open the folder settings. Here you can specify which folders to use for automatic syncing. If you right click
the icon you get additional options to view your documents on Docstoc, view sync status and finally check
for program upgrades. You can also add additional directories to sync, after installation by clicking on the

Docstoc Sync will create a folder on your desktop titled “Docstoc Public Documents”. Any files you place in
this folder will automatically be synced and uploaded to Docstoc. They will appear on your profile as public
documents. This is the quickest and easiest way to publish your documents online.

Docstoc’s Private Document feature allows you to track who views, downloads, and emails your
documents. Private documents cannot be accessed by the community at-large. Only people with whom
you share an encoded private document link with may access the document.

Making Documents Private
To create a new private document, visit the upload page and select the "private" checkbox, or use Docstoc
OneClick. You can also mark documents private directly from your profile page. Simply click the profile tab
at the top of any page, locate the file in your document listings and click the private checkbox.
Document Activity Log
Each private document has its own document activity log. Here you can see who viewed the document,
when it was viewed, and if that document was emailed to other people. You can see the email addresses
of all the recipients your document was sent to. This log can only be viewed by the user that uploaded the
Your Private Document Guestbook
Users who are logged into Docstoc automatically have their identity added to the document activity log.
Recipients who are not logged-in will have to disclose their identity before viewing your private document.
The Document Guestbook is a great way, to track who views your document without inconveniencing your
recipients. Only the document owner can see the information added to the guestbook.
Marking your document as copyright will prohibit any recipient from downloading the document. To enable
this feature, select Traditional Copyright when uploading your document. This features offers you the
ultimate protection for your document, by ensuring that your digital content cannot be distributed,
downloaded or re-posted without your permission.
