HOME SCHOOL PHYSICAL FITNESS
The YMCA believes in building strong kids, adults and families through a
progressive sports program stressing skill development, fun, physical fitness and
friendly competition. The Y strives to support and strengthen family life, teach
physical skills, build self-esteem, provide everyone an opportunity to participate
and keep competition in proper perspective.
This program offers your choice of gym, swim, or a gym and swim combo.
Children will learn the basics of a variety of sports and fitness classes. We offer
swim classes for different levels of swimming ability and skill. Students may
even enjoy a full afternoon of physical activity if a gym and swim class is
selected. This program is for home schooled students of varied ages and
abilities and is offered during the school year only.
The Greater Green Bay YMCA offers a home school sports program at the East
Side center. Refer to the current program guide for ages, locations and times.
What equipment will I need for these programs?
Please dress appropriately for sports or fitness classes and wear athletic shoes. Also,
please view the Youth Swim Lessons information sheet for more details on the Swim
portion of class.
What can a parent do as a volunteer?
Parents can volunteer to assist the instructor. All YMCA Volunteers are required to fill
out a volunteer application, volunteer background check, and a volunteer time card for
the time they volunteer.
For any additional information, please contact the Family & Teen Director
at our East Side center at 436-1226.
The YMCA provides membership and program services to anyone regardless of ability to pay.
Financial assistance is made possible through contributions to the
Partner With Youth Campaign. For information, contact the YMCA at 436-9622.
